I know this thread is starting to become the norm.....but after a hellishly long wait I finally picked up my new '03 black Z71 AV. I would espically like to thank Goo, Steelheadchaser, Subermobile, and Audiat and all the other members for your answers, photos and support. ? ?Your right....well worth the wait. Man this thing is a beast! It sits all angry like in my garage. I took a photo but it truly doesn't do it jusitce. That darker molding on the black is sweeeet! I'll get a better photo for ya on Sat. ?

? And as for mods I was pretty sted fast against them....I like to keep my rig stock.....but ?:p ?I am going to go with: ? Amber DRL's, switch out fog light bulb, Mag light and fire extingisher mod. And thats IT!!! ?>:D HAHAHAHA well see!

Thanks again,

Congrats and you are very welcome!

I remember when I thought the only MOD I was going to do was NEONS >:D

... of course that was before I found this playground

Famous last words! Let us know when you get your wheels, tires, and Whipple! Congrats on getting your rig CQ!

Very Nice !!!!! Congratulations..... hope you enjoy all the mods you'll be adding ;D

Nice truck.
Must say while I like the new cladding, think I would still so the same paint job on mine.
Have fun, and keep repeating no mods, no mods....

Welcome to the wonderful world of Aving!

Glad we were able to help. I hurt for you and your long wait - I know how hard it is!!

I like the idea of keeping the Avalanche looking stock too.

Thats why I only did the following:

billet grill (really looks better)
flag bowtie (goes great with my red Supermobilel)
backup sensors (hardly see 'em)
bedslide (it's inside)
line of fire (cant see 'em in the daytime, look incredibly awesome at night)
amber Daytime Running Lights
Stripeman Avalanche decals on words Avalanche and Chevrolet. (If you do the Chevrolet, it is worth the extra price to get the "fade" design one)
Magnaflow muffler (can't see it)
Magnaflow stainless steel tip. (A nice touch)
K & N drop in replace filter (Noticeable more power)

Still looks stock.

I think the Z66 wheels look pretty decent so I am not changing them.

I would never lift, or lower, my Av.

I am going to add running boards type assist steps.

Wow, Supermobile, I've not had my Av a month yet, and your list looks like just what I have in mind. Understated, but sweet.

I hadn't thought much about the bedslide or line of fire, but everything else sounds like what I'm look to do or have done.

Thanks for the tip on the Chevrolet lettering. I might have to opt for that.

Have you looked at the Luverne nerf bars. They are gray and match the cladding.

Mark

Nice truck!!!

Lets see 1 year from now that truck will have more mods than you think.

Good luck

Yeah...uh huh. You just wait till the mod bug bites you in the butt. You'll be asking Gandolph how to install Mr Whipple under the hood. >:D

I said the very same thing you did. I like to keep my vehicle stock. That was amber DRLs, new foglights, tint, glasscape flag tint, Texas hitch cover, custom Texas Flag Bowtie, custom flag mounts, and a reflective tape mod ago. And I'm only building momentum! >:D

so black is beautiful. over 3000 avrs in this club know they made the right choice...maybe the ultimate mod is not making a mod.............hey, if ya wanna keep it a secret, i got mods starting at no dollars, on up!!!first one is pull the tailgate, the three panels, drop the midgate and cruise.... you will get the av only feeling that you have been waiting for.... ps all 3000 +avalanche club members are glad you are riding with us!!!

Also... all mods need not be expensive. Not being flush with the green myself, but wanting to personalize, my stock Av,I performed the following:

1:Gm bug Deflector ?60.00 (didn't want to chance stone chips )
2:Testors Paint pen(used to paint letters,engine cover,bowties on mud flaps) 4.00
3:Amber DRL's (everyone must know you are a member, and they look cool!) 5.00
4:DRL's always on mod.....10 minutes of time, the only cost here. The fine people of this board figured everything out quite nicely, just follow the instructions.
5: Upgraded fog lights 25.00 (great upgrade if you do any night driving)

total Cost=94.00 loonies
So as you can see I't doesent have to be a rich mans sport to spruce up your Av.Those are Canadian prices so I'm sure your cost would be a little less in greenback. :)

You can see my mods on my web page, just click below!
NatsCanAv

p.s. ?saving my pennies for fipk, exhaust, weathertech window deflectors......... ;D

Great looking truck, but I have to admit I'm pretty partial to black.

The only mod I was going to make was the stereo, but then I got a little carried away.

First off...Great looking ride....I must admit that I haven't gotten too crazy with the mods..just the standard breather mods and Amber Drl's etc.....still need to get the headers...(almost forgot)... :B:

Welcome to our family. There is something to be said about a Av buyer who decides to keep his Av totally stock with no mods at all. Just ask the rest of us. Happy moding. We got you!!!

CQB4Me;
Congratulations for 2 reasons:
1) Buying an Av.
2) Having a garage big enough to fit it in ( mine sticks out 22" or so....... :7:
