just got back to louisiana crossed the border 1 dec after changing oil to mobil 1 a brownsville with 805 miles i now have 4,560 miles on my 2004 av wbh 2 wheel drive 5. motor ok no problems i want to tell what i obseved between the 2002 tundra and my 2004 av i am not a truck critic just what i see as a simple person ok first of all the av has a better suspension the trundra every time you hit a bump wich is very very often in mexico the trundra would bottom out the av no just a better suspencion the ride 50 %better the driver seat is 100% better..the tundra to close to floor and your knees was always higher than your hips and no way to adjust..the space in av great in trundra your face is about 14" from front wind shield and the windshield was always a problem with fogging inside because your breathing on it and the passagner also so alwaya a problem to adjust defroster.. i weara baseball cap and if you want to lean a little bit forward to get some thing from back pocket your cap bill always hit wind shield even wirh seat allway back the gas milage to me is the same the tundra was a 6 cilindra and the av 5.8 i filled up and down the road i noticed i was getting the same milage..i believe the headliner has a better insulation in av than tundra i run heater till truck was warm at night then shut it off and then try to go to sleep the tundra would cool off rather quick but the av didnt on the tundra in 5 minutes you could feel the cool air falling....before i went to mexico i bought a gas cap lockable from the gm parts where i bought it but it want right and i had to put on old one ....in mexico they sell the av cladded 4 wheel drive you cant buy 2 wheel drive in mexico because it is declared luxury truck but a 4 wheel is declared a work truch if you could buy one you would have to pay 800.00dollar a year tax because its a luxury well that my update abuelito

Abuelito,

Great feedback! I looked at the Tundra a few years back and didn't like the truck for the price. It sounds like you had a great trip in Mexico. We should all have an Avalanche Mexico fun run with you as a guide. Take ua all out and test these things out. Especially the side coolers :3:

I'm in ;D ;D. I've been to Mexico once, crossed over the bridge and crossed back, just had to do it
