I hope some aftermarket restoration company like National Parts Depot, Ecklers, etc. start making quality reproduction parts for the Avalanches. Right now our trucks are at that point where OEM parts are getting hard to find and increasing in price. What is left in junkyards suffer from the same issues are our trucks.

Opportunity knocking for you to start working on that with NPD.

I guess it's the story old car/truck people have had for decades. If you happen to own a "valuable or popular" old car like a Mustang, or Corvette etc. then you can find all the parts you want but if you own a Pinto or Vega or Pacer you may be in hard luck area.
The question that only time will tell is whether the AV falls into the desirable/ collectable side of the issue or just a rare oddity that few want to own.
One possible influence would be the old adage "squeaky wheel get the grease" if enough AV owners contact parts companies then maybe they will see the demand and start making parts. The problem is the owners must be willing to spend the money to keep their AVs on the road and not sell to buy a newer vehicle....

I about pooped my pants when the restoration/collision company couldn't find any replacement panels for the 2nd gen Avy. There are no patch panels for the common rusting areas. We searched high and low. Short of pulling a full panel off of another Avalanche and digging up more problems on mine in the process it just wasn't worth it. Luckily I replaced the front fenders with brand new ones so those are good to go but the rear rockers and such had to be cleaned up by yours truly and do the best I could with fiberglass filler here and there. The fender flares cover any odd looking issues with my work so the Avy looks fantastic and should last many more years with the work I did to it. Dang rust belt!

Ya might want to check out www.opgi.com
Original Parts Group, they are licensed by GM to reproduce OEM parts.
They are producing some EXT parts, but I think they are having a problem with the volume needed to make a profit.

EXT share a lot of parts with the AV.
