Midgate Adjustment

Has anyone attempted to adjust midgate closing latches? Is there a factory procedure? Does one start with the latch or the striker plate?

The #1 hard tonneau fits against the outside midgate window seal - if this is not a snug fit (I can see some light when in the bed) is there a recommended adjustment?

Thanks,
Marc

Why would you want to adjuct it yourself. This is a dealer problem and should be brought to their attention. The warrenty will take care of a adjust like the midgate to make watertight.

If you see light inside the bed then I would have them adjust the cargo covers. The midgate should only be adjusted if it leaks or does not close properly.

Thanks gents!

I tend to try the simple fixes myself before bringing the truck into the dealer (sense of accomplishment, etc.). I have just passed the 500 mile mark - will give dealer a list when I drop truck off for the first oil change and lube.

Thanks,
mal

Mal,
I had the same problem -- light between panel #1 and the midgate. Water started to leak in whenever I washed the car and then it got in between the bedliner and the bed. Became a hassle to dry the bed because had to remove the rubber bedliner. Brought it in to the dealer and had the cargo panels adjusted. Not leaking anymore. They also had to trim the drain channels also. Good luck!

DoctorT,

I'm dealing with the same problem between panel #3 and the tailgate. It looks to be very easily adjusted, but I'm going to let them handle it at the dealership.

I am curious though, could you be more specific about: "They also had to trim the drain channels"

Thanks,

Helmet,
I am going to go out tomorrow and take the panels off to look. When I reply "they had to trim the drain channels" I was referring to what I read off the repair order when I got the Avy back. If I cannot find evidence of the work then I will try and talk to the technician who perform the service for further details.
