Not quite sure how to describe this, but didn't see it anywhere. Apologize up front if the answer is already out here somewhere.
The midgate area I am referring to would be the "cover" piece that is hinged that folds down with the midgate to cover the gap between the bed and the midgate when it is down. I am referring to the (I think it is some sort of plastic) cover that is around four to five inches tall and stretches from side to side in this area.
I really never really paid much attention to it till this past weekend. Went to fold down the midgate to hall a 14-foot piece of rolled up carpet, and had a small problem. Had not dropped the midgate in probably three-four months....ie.....not since the summer heat. Anyway turned the little handle to release the midgate and it acted like it was stuck. Pulled on it a little and it came down like you would expect. However on further inspection as to why it was sticking, I found out that there were little self adhesive pads stuck on the underside of the little hinged piece cover that I tried to describe above. Seems as though in the heat, the little pad thingies (technical term) started to break down and was causing the adhesive to stick straight to the midgate. I guess the little pads are there to help the cover to slide up and down on the midgate, however now my midgate sticks to them.
I realize this is a minor detail, and I could fix myself, but since still under warranty will probably take to the dealer. Just curious if anyone else has ever had this happen?
Does anyone know what I am talking about, or do you all think I am crazy?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
