HAD THE TAILGATE AND SOVERS OFF TO CLEAN AV AND SAW A SLOTTED COVER ON THE FLOOR BY THE MIDGATE, KINDA PULLED IT UP AND OFF AND SAW THE FORWARD DRAIN, ONLY ONE AND OFFCENTER TO THE LEFT,, RINSED OUT SOME LEAVES AND STICKS AND WATCHED IT DRAIN,,, SLIPPED IT BACK INTO THE SLOTS, AND PUSHED THE"pins" BACK DOWN. INTO THEIR GROMMETS... IN ELEVEM(!!) MONTHS, THIS IS FIRST TIME i SAW OR NOTICED AND CLEANED THIS OUT..... WATCH OUT ON CLOGGING THIS!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree. This is an obvious area overlooked to often when cleaning the Av. After my hauling landscaping blocks, this panel and beneath it was filled with brick particules. Now, every time I haul stuff that makes a mess, I pull that panel AND the bed mat. Cleaning the two at the same time makes A LOT of sense.

I agree too. It is part of my monthly cleaning to take the bedmat out, clean the drain holes and wash, dry and use a quick spray wax in the bed. Am I too picky? Maybe so, but my truck loves me :p !

I won't go into my other cleaning techniques, because most of them I stole from other members here and I don't want to get sued for their rights to the ideas ;D !

now wiki we are all her to share our av ideas dont you know!! hey instead of starting another topic, unless you want ,, have you noticed in the rear wheel wells, the TUBES, on the forward edge,... These must be the drains for those screened . holes in front of the storage box lids I would like to "backflush these, but the disappear behind the front edge of the rear wheel wells....has anybody been there yet. Im armor alling the smooth plastic stuff in the wells and just noticed these, the are marked r&l i gotta be careful or i will think up some mod if I lay down under av again!!!

Yep, our Avs are like a house - they have gutters, leaf screens and down spouts.

Those tubes would be the down spouts.

Be careful pulling up the the midgate drain grate - it has sharp edges and can bite you.
