Milk Dud melted under mats in carpets

The same day I purchased my AV I installed Catch All Floor mats. They?ve done a great job protecting the carpets, with the exception of the Milk Dud that crawled under the rear mat behind the passenger?s seat before melting, beening repetitively stepped on, and solidifying in my carpet. I obviously didn?t find it until it was too late.

Any suggestions on removing caramel, basically a melted milk dud, from the carpets? I believe that this would be similar to gum.

At least it is something that will dissolve in water. I would go over it with the upholstery attachments on my carpet steamer repeatedly until it all came out.

soak it and soak it and soak it......then get vac and maybe a brush....maybe some more carpet cleaner...etc etc etc..

Good Luck

No duds or gum or dirt or anything will remain if you use "Spot Shot instant Carpet Stain Remover" [orange can]. Beats me how it works but no scrubbing, no damage, no mess - just disappears. It is designed specifically for carpets. Gum however needs to be plucked from the carpet. Then spray with fabreeze and the smell is gone. Brilliant product and cheap $3.75 a can and goes a long way- don't drown the floor mats. ;D ;) (y)

I use a can of Insta Freeze... any Cold Frezzing spray..... Then you can tap it a number of times and sweep it right up.... try it in a out of hte way place to insure its not going to pull any color....

Has worked on gum a number of times....

All great ideas...

I would try a litle dry ice to make it brittle and it may break off. Be careful with using dry ice ~ use thick gloves!

Or there is the other appoach of using a hair drier to make it soft and plyable. This might work in conjunction with WD40

You might even try steam cleaning
