Thanks to the post by sinister, I now know what is expected of me.    Like any club the hardest part is learning the do?s and don?ts.    How about a breakfast some Saturday morning?    I?m sure some central place can be found!

Well I finally did it.  After much debate I traded in the 98 GMC Sierra Z71 for a 03 AV Z71.  Wife loves it.  I was afraid of that.  I am sure that any time I want to go any where I will need to put gas in it.  So if anyone in the Coon Rapids area spys a metalic pewter AV wave or if I am in the Home Depot parking lot ( often ) stop by and say hi.

Hi everyone. I just became a member. I have owned my 02 Avalanche since Dec. of 03. I love it.
It has a Rancho 4" suspension lift and I put on a 3" body lift.
I also added a lot of chrome to the outside. I found a lot of stuff on Ebay. I also put on an Escalade guage cluster. That is sweet.
Another mod I just did last week were Vynols on the sides. I think everyone will like them.
I am in Isanti. If anyone is close, email me.
I will post some pics soon.

Does anyone know how to keep your DRL on all the time? My shut off when the headlights come on. I am going to put the amber lights on reall soon.

Welcome cygnus 1 and Chromedout. Looks like the odds of seeing ambers is getting better. As for your 02 and keeping the lights on its in here somewhere. I would loook under the mod. section or do a search.

Well i went and looked for the lights on all the time. Its in the chev. ava. acc. & mod. section. scroll down untill you see[ find it here first] and its in there. Scroll down again to the mod. section and there it is. This would have been faster if i knew how to do the link thing.

Thanks DWAYNE. I found it. They are sweet. I also got the Ambers in today. They also are sweet. I love this truck. ? :B:

Has anyone else put the switch on the tailgate yet? I did that today as well. It works great. It only took me about 30 minutes to do.

I am going to take some pictures now and try to post them on here. Wish me luck.

;D ;D

Here are some pics. I hope everyone enjoys.

Here are some pics of the inside. You can see the Escalade Gauges and the billet heater knobs.

The tailgate switch. You can add a switch that works when you open your tailgate to turn on the cargo lights. It only takes about $5.00 and 30 minutes to do. Check on this site for a detailed instructions on how to do it.

That sounds pretty cool. I just couldn't figure out what it is. I was thinking it was something like a remote lock on the tailgate or something. I may have to check out this mod.

I might try to ad a  power lock to my tailgate lock so that it will run on the rest of the locks. Has anyone else tried that, or now how to do it??

I think that should be standard.

[size=10pt] MINNESOTA, we need to set up a get to gether. I was thinking Duluth would be cool. We could all meet somewhere in Duluth and then all ride together up to Two Harbours and then maybe up through Fairbanks and over to Eveleth or Virginia??? If we can get enough people onboard, I will call the Hotels/Motels up there and see what kind of a discount we can get. I personally like the motels myself since you park your truck right outside your door.

What does everyone think???? Also, when do you think we should do it? Spring, Summer, or Fall? The leaves are awesome up there in the Fall.

Post your thoughts about this on here, and also email me with your ideas, and if you can do it.

To add to the trip. I think it would be even better if we all met in Hinkley at Tobby's Restaurnt. I will call them and get an area reserved for us once I know how many people are going to go and when. Then we could all ride to Duluth and then Two Harbors for the night. For everyone that lives in Northern Minnesota, you could meet in Duluth.

Is there someone on here who know Duluth really well? We need a good place to meet where we can all park and be in a cool place, like by the water, or at the Split Rock Light House????????

This will be great.

On the tailgate keep looking its been done. As far as the gtg all you can do is pick a date. Then you can see who is interested. There are others over at club avalanche also.

Hey all,

I just got a 03 WBH Lt. Pewter Avalanche last monday.  I bought it to replace my 2001 Nissan Xterra (that I totalled).  Got a great deal on the truck, only 8,000 miles on it.  So far I LOVE it.  :B:

Welcome Guido where you located at and don't forget to install the amber driving lights. One of these days i'm going to see another pair around MN.

I drive from West Bloomington to Cottage Grove everyday so keep an eye out for a white AV with ambers.

If you are around Isanti, or the northern suburbs. Keep an eye out for me.

Yeah a GTG would be great. If it's in the next few weeks I can probably make it. I leave for Japan in 4 weeks and will be gone for a month. I am called out of town alot on business during the week. This comming week for instance I will be out on the west coast (California-Nevada) from Monday through Friday. I don't always get much notice to when I have to fly out so I would hate to try and set a date and then not be able to go as I'm out of town on an emergency. So if you guys want to come up with a date and a place I'll do what I can to make it. Weekends work best for me but I am on call 24/7. So I can't be definite until the last min.

Anyone who wants to do a drive and GTG from Hinckley to Duluth, email me at

slp82180@msn.com

Give me your club id, and dates that you think would work out the best. I am thinking more like in the summer or fall. My wife and I haven't been able to get up there for the fall colors yet. We keep wanting to. I'll go through all the emails, and let everyone know what dates are most wanted.  This is something that we could all do on a weekend. Leave on Friday or Saturday, and come home Sunday. And if there is anyone who lives north, they could just meet us in Duluth, and not have to come down to Hinkley.

Also, if we can get enough people to want to go, I will see if I can find a nice Hotel in Duluth that will give a discount.

Hope to hear from everyone.
