Yesterday when I started my Av my "Change Engine Oil" light came on. I stopped for gas on my way home and opened the hood to check my oil. I don't do this every time but I on occasion. Right away I noticed was something was missing. I realised that it was my oil filler cap. Now I would normally think that they forgot it when they did my last oil change but my brother does my oil changes for me. Now it is possible that he forgot to put it back on but I cleaned under my hood about 3 weeks ago and I didn't notice it missign then. Nobody has been under my hood since I cleaned it. Does anybody know if it's possible that my cap just fell off?

I dunno....seems like the design is such that it would not fall out when installed all the way.....

Good luck

If you are sure it was there before, maybe it was just sitting on the top before and on a bump it fell off. If it were tight I don't think it would be possible to fall out!

I had my brake fluid cap left off and sitting on the battery after a trip to the dealership in one car a few years ago. Discovered this after a 500 mile road trip when moving from Virginia to Connecticut. (The reason I wanted them to make sure the vehicle was 100% ready to move me and all my stuff on the 12 hour trip) I was a little ticked, and could not speak to the service people in person now that I lived so far away.
