I see this in the meetings section but I was wondering what the info is I am trying to make plans for were am staying but are we meeting at the Ski area? are we meeting some where and then cruiseing up there? do we need a snow park permit? Thanks for all your help

Hey Lance did you get the info you wanted?
I'm planning on going, not that I've told anyone yet. (Guess I have now! ;D )But are you going to meet up with everyone in Monroe or try to meet up with the group in Leavenworth (or Wenatchee)? Monroe would cause you to back track a bit wouldn't it? (I'm assuming you come up through Eastern WA.) Not that driving over the pass a couple of times is a bad thing, but with gas prices and everything now days!

Well I don't even know where we are meeting yet ??? so give the times and where and I will meet up where ever you guys meet :)

I think this will be a cool trip. I think I'll try to make it, unless there's an ATV run on the same day.

We should really get some info together to make sure we're all in the same place at the same time. I, for one, don't know squat.

OK, OK - I can take a hint - I'll pull something together. ;D

I thought the listing on the meetings board said we would meet in Monroe around 9 AM. Is this changing? That's why I thought Lance may want to meet in Leavenworth or something like that.

Actually - someone went through the club calendar and deleted all my entries. :8: :8: :8: :8: :8:

For those on the east side yes, meet in Monroe at the usual rallying point which is the Wells Fargo bank at Route 2. Good place to meet because of grocery store, McDonalds and bank all being there and a dirt lot across the street to rally at before heading down Route 2.

Then well head down Route 2, over Stevens Pass and then 97 into Wenatchee and then out to Mission Ridge.

The drive time is 3:01. Meeting time on Saturday will be 9:00 AM in Monroe (I know a little early). I will probably NOT head back with you but stay in Wenatchee and ski out at Mission Ridge (just can't help myself).

I'll do an e-mail to the distribution list (and include Idaho) for the trip. I figure lunch in Wenatchee and then head up to Mission Ridge for the Familyfest before they close for the day. Only bad thing is Avalanche goodies will probably be thin by the time we get there. I'll also give GM a heads up that we are coming.

Great info thanks for you help see ya guys this weekend By the way I will meet in Monroe with you guys I have been there once all ready so I have an idea where it is

Sorry to hear your meetings got wiped out, Chief, but this thread doesn't really say what the meet is about. I mean, most meet threads include itinerary and hoopla info in the first post, even if that post has to be edited several times throughout the planning stage.

Can someone provide some more info as to what is being planned?

Brendan

The Seattle Area Club is happy to invite you to attend the Chevrolet Familyfest at Mission Ridge Ski Area in Wenatchee, Washington, this Saturday, March 8, 2003.

Familyfest is a program that is run concurrently with the Ski Chevy promotion (now over for 2003) at major ski areas across the United States. There will be representatives from General Motors, the latest Chevrolet vehicles, games and fun for all, and FREE stuff. The east coast folks had 38 show up at Camelback and the word got all the way back to GM Detroit on the club presence. You don't have to like or even want to ski to attend, you just need to have an Avalanche. Familyfest and club events are very family and children family. Bring the kids, bring a Thermos of hot chocolate and a sled because the weather man is saying there will be a lot of opportunities.

Here is the schedule for EAST BOUND Avalanche owners:

Saturday, March 8, 2003:

9:00 AM Meet at the Wells Fargo Bank on US Highway 2 in Monroe, Washington
9:20 AM Drivers meeting and briefing
9:30 AM Depart Wells Fargo via US Highway 2 over Stevens Pass
11:30 AM Stop at rest area on US Highway 2 between Stevens Pass and Leavenworth, Washington
11:45 AM Depart rest area
12:00 Noon Arrive Leavenworth, Washington
12:30 PM Arrive Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, 1306 North Miller Avenue, Wenatchee, WA for lunch
2:00 PM Depart Red Robin Gourmet Burgers
2:30 PM Arrive at Mission Ridge Ski Area, 7500 Mission Ridge Road, Wenatchee, Washington
4:00 PM Depart Mission Ridge

Here is the schedule for WEST BOUND Avalanche owners:

9:30 AM from Spokane, Washington
12:20 PM Arrive Wenatchee, Washington
12:30 PM Arrive Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, 1306 North Miller Avenue, Wenatchee, WA for lunch
2:00 PM Depart Red Robin Gourmet Burgers
2:30 PM Arrive at Mission Ridge Ski Area, 7500 Mission Ridge Road, Wenatchee, Washington
4:00 PM Depart Mission Ridge

These times are estimates and are padded due to expected poor pass conditions over Stevens Pass. The ETA at Red Robin in Wenatchee will be between 12:00 Noon and 1:00 PM depending on these conditions. West bound Avalanches shouldn't have serious weather problems.

If you ski or snowboard this weekend is likely to be the best for skiing so far this year. Mission Ridge is largely comprised of intermediate difficulty terrain that requires some technical skill. They have rental equipment AND child care for those with children. The mountain is open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and if you stay overnight, Sunday is going to be a great opportunity to hit the slopes with a good amount of fresh powder on the ground.

The La Quinta Inn in Wenatchee at 1905 North Wenatchee, Avenue has availabilty with rooms starting at $48.00 a night online. Because of the expected snow and good ski conditions it is strongly recommended to book a hotel room in advance.

The Wenatchee area offers a wide range of outdoor activities just to the west, located on the eastern edge of the Cascade Mountains.

If you are following Chief through the snow and visibility is poor, pay close attention to exactly where he goes, and look for evidence that he may have laid tracks in one direction, but then backed up and taken a different route. ;D

Seriously, looks like a great trip--now that I know what it's all about, I'm all the more sorry to miss out.

Brendan

Chief--can you tell I'm feeling better about this whole thing? :)

Yes I can - but I didn't back up when I came to the razor back. I went over it also and sat there with my nose in the sand. I put it in 4-Lo, 1st gear and worked my way over. Had I know someone was going to follow my tracks I would have waived them off. You just were moving faster than me when you hit it.

FYI - I'm told by the folks at 4-Wheel Part Wholesalers that they have a front skid shield that attaches to the core support - seems like THAT would have prevented a lot of the damage you got.

Ooooohhh... I gotta check that out.

In order to stay focused, I've moved my earlier reply to the existing Brush gaurd options thread.

GOOD NEWS GREAT NEWS I was looking in GM Buypower and there is a Yellow Avalanche Z71 loaded at Speedway Chevrolet in MonRoe, WA I am going to do a locater and see if it is in stock I will let you know.

Sorry for the double post but I just went to the next page they have 2 Yellow AV's in one loaded with cladding and one Yellow one with out cladding I am going ot get up early to go check them out I hope they have them in stock

You really have yellow fever, don't you Lance? I don't know anyone who would make a trip out prior to a 9am meet just to check out the Yellow Avs. And all this when it's a direct shot for you from LG; you choose to drive past your destination to meet at Monroe, see yellow Avs, and then join the cruise.

Ahhh youth...

Haven't decided if I'm going skiing or not, but I'm throwing the skis and board in anyway. Should be fun no matter what. See everyone on Saturday.

I believe we have five so we're on for this meet. Come on Fish and Steelheadchaser. It will be FUN! ;D

Lance, I just got back from the dealer in Monroe. They will give me a call when the yellow Avs show up. They expect them by next weekend. They did have a yellow Prowler there for $36,500! BTW, they asked me if I knew the guy in Oregon with a white Z71 that called them this morning. Of course I said no, since I didn't know that you had called them! ;D

If there are no objections, let's agree on FRS channel 3 (month). If this is too chattery, we can move to 8 (date). Agreed?
