Hello all, I just traded my 99 Dodge ram in on an 02 AC Z-71, and I absoultely love it .

Now I have a few questions for the experts (or anyone) in the group. I have installed my Alpine IVA-D900 in the stock location and have it all wired up and running great, however the transmission stalk/lever/handle gets in the way of the screen opeing and closing. I can do it manually when I am in drive, but I prefer the full auto version.

has anyone found a fix, bent the stalk etc, or am I going to have to move the headunit down to the factory cd storage location and put a storage pocket in the dash?

any and all suggestions and advice will be appreciated.

I have learned alot by reaidng the post, this is going to be fun

Thanks again

Christian

Heres an idea, might be horrible though. Move the tow/haul button to somewhere in the dash, cut the lever down and re surface it with some material....

I'm struggling with this Mod myself. My Pioneer Nav system screen also hits the auto transmission lever. I did get my hands on a spare shifter and attempted to bend it. The shifter broke at the point near the Steering wheel connection. Beware do not attempt to bend the Transmission Lever. My next project is to just build me one from scratch. I will also attach my small steering wheel remote on to my new lever. There is also a place in Dallas that will wrap any type of Transmission Lever in leather for a more factory look. It cost $100 US but for the factory look I guess it's worth it. If anyone else has a better solution please post it.
