Mud Flaps

I just added mudflaps to my 09 Avalanche.  I put the Husky molded mudflaps on front, and "PlastiColor" brand 11"x19" mudflaps with the yellow bowtie logo on the rear.  (And I'd post pictures, but I am a newbie, so once I am able to you bet I'll show off my Avi.)  One question I had is the recommended clearance for the rear mudflaps.  I put them on with a 6 1/2 inch clearance to the ground.  Do you guys think this is too low??

I am trying to find GM factory mud flaps for my new, to me, 2007 AV. Checked with the dealer, not much help.
I looked at the GM accessory site and they only go back to 08.
Does anyone know if the 08-10 mud flaps will fit an 07 also.

Thanks

I installed a set of the Husky mudflaps.

Installation was easy and the quality is top notch.

has anyone tried these guys ???they even has map to the close dealer in your area to purchase from

http://www.weathertech.com/

My experience with mud flaps is that they break off when you're in deep snow and try to back up.  The ones i had were just plain rubber or harder plastic,  from a local parts store.   Are the fancier brand name ones like WeatherTech better in this regard?

Yes only in a few colors have the white diamond mud flaps on my  "13"

muffman, not yet but hope soon

I have all ways been shown that you take a piece of string at the bottom on tire and run back up to end of truck and that angle the rocks should miss the truck. you would lower the mudflap to the string and that should be the best length.

Hi!  Long time Av owner, first time poster.  I just bought my third Avalanche, a 2010 Blue Granite.  Does anyone know if color matched splash guards can be purchased for this color?

Just bought a pair of oem Molded GM splash guards # 178002161 for the front of my 2013 Ave with fixed running boards on ebay today,  as that part number is now discontinued and the dealer could not get it for me, it's been replaced with part # 19212819 which is a much flatter, with a lot less molding, splash guard than the older molded  07 part, and guys, the pictures you have with the flaps painted really look great! (y) The older rear splash guard part # 12499846 is still the same as before which I have already installed, just happy I could still find the older fronts which match the rear GM guards much better than the new flatter guard.

Thanks for the "heads up"  utahpablo,
I've been slacking on doing this mod but this may just be the "kick in the butt" that I need to do it, that and the fact that the nasty winter weather has set in.

I'll be scouring e-bay to find all 4 before they become extinct!

I got the thinner ones on the front of mine .... it has a nice piece of rubber trim on it to keep the paint from rubbing off ....

You're welcome! Yes I've been looking all around the internet for these and got lucky yesterday, I don't know why GM changed these, other than cost, but they are dissapearing fast.......the part I'm trying to find myself now are the 2003 - 2007 "foldable bed tie downs" that I got used to with my 2003 Z66, my new 2013 has fixed ones that I don't care for. I have done many searches but nothing, so anyone that may have a part number? I thank you in advance, or I may have to find a good set in a "junker Avalanche". I just don't know why Gm has to mess with a good thing like the bed tie downs..

Husky molded mud flaps are the only way to go if you have a Z71........GM doesn't make an OEM for Avys with the Z71 package...Huskys are a little wider to fit the width and extra cutouts for fender flares

I used a set of Weathertech flaps on my 08 LT. No additional holes to drill and fit nicely. I dont know if they will fit the Z71s as I dont know the difference. IIRC they were around $70 or so for all 4. I like the look of the painted flaps some of you did  (y)
