8:00 am - 8:30 am Meet & Greet @ Starbucks by the Beaverton Fred Meyer
Historic Columbia River Gorge Highway ? Trace the cliffs of the gorge for some scenic splendor. The contrasts and riots of color, particularly with fall foliage, provide splashy scenes of quaint historic roads, sharply rising dark cliffs, and the backdrop of the gorge skyline.
9:30 am Portland Women's Forum - Capture dramatic lighting early in the morning at this phenomenal location, which provides a jaw-dropping perspective of the grand Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
10:00 am Vista House ? This national historic landmark was built with the same beautiful volcanic basalt that makes up the gorge itself. A slightly different viewpoint from here provides sweeping vistas and depth of field within context of the gorge.
11:00 am Multnomah Falls ? Thundering down 620 feet, this is a favorite of photographers no matter what the season. Plenty of splash, spray, lush vegetation, and sheer cliffs make for a spectacular shot.
12:30 pm Discovery Center and Museum in Hood River ? While stopping in Hood River there will be an choice to tour the Discovery Center and Museum ($6) then eat as we drive up to Timberline
or stop for a sit down meal in Hood River.
3:30 pm Timberline lodge up on Mount Hood ? The Timberline Lodge, located on the southern slope of Mount Hood near Portland, Oregon, was built under the Works Progress Administration in 1936-37. The Lodge represents one of the finest examples of twentieth-century architecture to be constructed by this government agency. Mount Hood is the highest point in Oregon, rising to 11,240 feet, and snow-covered year round. From here we are roughly 90 minutes 9depending upon conditions and traffic) from downtown Portland.
There should be plenty of time for photo ops.
