i ahve been having this musty smell in my truck for the last few weeks. has anybody had this? the dealer changed the incab airfilters, but the smell is still there.

Feel around the midgate area, down on the carpet behind the seats, see if it's wet. Is your AV out in the rain much (lately)?

Do you notice the smell just after you turn off the A/C? Is it that smell or different?

Sounds like either water has entered cab.....or their is a bacteria growth on the evaporator coil for the AC system

it has rained here a bit of late, but there is no water in the cab, i.e. no wet carpet.

it is mainly noticeable when you first get into it, and not the smell you get after turning off the a/c.

I've got to applaud my dealer here...they insisted on replacing the carpet in my truck after water entered the cab due to it having the old seals. Once they installed they new seals and drip rails, etc... they gave me new carpet. Mine was wet (only after a heavy rain/flood) in the left rear passenger area.

Good luck!

Keep an eye on that. It could come back again. I would also ask your dealer for a letter stating they know this is a problem. PM me for details. I received a letter for 100,000 mile waranty against leaks from my midgate on my old AV.

I had that once... then found the old burger under the seat. ;)

Seriously... almost has to be from a leak.... if you pull your carpet back a tad... the pad and/or carpet nap should be stained

Good Luck

I get the musty smell if I do not wipe down the inside of my doors real good after a washing.
I wipe down the door sill plates and along the gaskets on the door and anywhere else i can reach with the towel. Plus you do not have the water spots left over also. On black you can really tell even on the inside of the doors.........Worth a try, that is if you have washed it lately..

Well after having heavy rain you guys convinced me to go check my carpet......My daughter had complained about a smell that morning and I could not smell it. On the passenger side I did find wet carpet :8:

Seeing how I bought this on July 11th Pre-Owned, I doubt there is anything the dealer will do for me :E:

I should have bought a brand new one :0:

can you isolate the source?

is it the midgate?, window frame? rear door? front door? windshield?Water management system plugged?

I would get things dried out really good and then test things out with a water hose. If you can isolate it... you can fix it. Take a little time with this one... It will be worth the effort!

I am not sure where mine is coming from....I did think maybe the window, but there is no sign of my leather or anything else wet.

Must be the midgate.

Do you have warranty.........?

Dealers sould fix this.............

I did buy extended warranty.....you think I should let the dealer look at this? I have a gold warranty which is pretty much like a bumper to bumper?

i checked under the seats after a heavy rainfall and there was no wettness at all. the smell does seam to be getting less, maybe the filter change helped, if not i will take it back to the dealer.
