My Duramax Avalanche project

got a call today about car parts I'm selling on craigslist. ended up selling her the black mirror caps off the Dmaxalanche.

I got turn sig mirrors off an add for 75$ a year or 2 ago , sold the caps for $30 today and finally forced me to put the SOM painted caps on ... love being paid to mod my truck....lol

Hey dude how goes the truck build? Any updates?

Same story here.

I am actually currently looking into a SAS Dana 60 front swap as well as a 14 bolt out back with a four on the floor shifter and just swap in a bench seat out of a tahoe PPV or something

For the next time you are scavenging how about these for a wheel option? Looks like a set of Hummer wheels with late model 2500 P/U center caps. The look nice on this 2500 P/U at work I think they would look good on a 2500 Avalanche.

Really like those wheels, any idea who makes them and what sizes they are available in?

those are stock hummer rims from GM.

na  no rolling coal for me. I like clean tunes that make power,  not smoke

but I am making my own tune  with HPTuners. Cant add much power because she suffers axle wrap when I get on her now.

700 FT/LB of torque will do that. AA.

just did 1000 highway miles on her. truck dic said 18 mpg ,  gas pump math said 19mpg. way better than the 8-12 with the 8.1

about 50k since starting the conversion. still love her

Dang, that's 2 -4 mpg better than I get with my Z71.

65.000 miles on her since the build. still not 'finished' but still a head turner.

I did miles with the wrong truck clusters mileage, so the redo. Or did I do it wrong last years post..... f it

What is left to do on it.

Body and paint for the most part
I know we can't see any flaws in the body or paint in these pictures, but I think it looks great the way it is.  The cladding with that color is a perfect combination.
