What model did you go with? And why that over a plug-in module like the Range unit?
Here's a p.s. to my personal usage; I don't mind to plug and unplug the unit when I want to, that option is actually a draw for me.
As a contractor I'm forever on surface roads and in traffic. The ability to keep the truck in V-8 mode is highly desirable for me in these conditions.
When work is done for the day, or on any other highway driving etc. The unit will remain unplugged and the engine allowed to function as normal. (Since I've not enhanced the performance in any way, I saw no need to "permanently" alter the factory system. Exhaust/intake/tune etc.)
(Open to thoughts/opinions here. This is my Introduction to the avalanche.)
I get that there may be an issue that pops up, if it does I will rely on Range to Flash the unit and return it. Should that fail, I have no problem upgrading to a hand held programmer.
The increase in functionality has its own draw. The price was, at the time undesirable given that most of the features would go unused.
