Took delivery last night!!!

Victory Red. Black leather. Bose. Sunroof. Trailer towing. On Star. Every option I think you can get except the roof rack and block heater !!! 1500 Z-71. The sound system is great. May not be as powerful as some of you guys, but hey,,,, I'm 50.

I love it. Sold the '02 for $28K. They offered $21K on trade in. HA!

Got the $3,000 cash back. Paid cash for the rest. They took $3,000 off the sticker and then gave the $3,000 rebate. Brought sticker down to $34K

Monday it goes in for exhaust and I install the Air Max intake kit this weekend. Tuesday goes in for Trenz billet grille and bow tie. Came with the factory steps. Wife likes them better than nerfs-- "I don't have to balance on them anymore". Sacrifices.

Like a kid with a new toy !!!

The one not so good thing is when you get the fancy seats and they put the rear audio outlets in, you lose a lot of room in the console. Oh well. Had to switch to carrying the Glock 27 in .40 cal instead of the big frame. Sacrifices,,, life is all about sacrifices.

Trophyman.

Congratulations Trophyman on your new AV! :B:Looks like you're waiting 3 whole days before starting mods. Make sure to get some photos before mods this weekend. Take some later for comparison. It's always neat to get some before and after shots!

Best of luck!

Trophyman,

Nice job on the purchase!

Do you lock the Glock in a separate box or how do you carry it exactly?

I have to figure something out for my Zig.

pedr0,

If you are reffering to the firearms produced by the SIG family of companies (Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft),of Neuhausen, Switzerland.,

I belive its spelled S I G ...

What would I know, GLOCK owner here!!! ;)

Thanks dr_bypass for catching the typo.

That is SIG as in Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft and 9mm.

Trophyman,

Now I would suggest setting aside an hour or so of "quiet time" just for you and your new Av. Just so you, the Av and the owners manual can bond together on learning all the new memory features, reverse tilt mirrors, adjustable pedals and other fun stuff the '03 has.

If you want to sell those assist steps, let me know!

Chris

By the way, does anyone use the reverse-tilt mirrors? I've got'em, but they tilt too much. I end up looking at the ground by the door! Anyway to adjust them?

I am completely satisfied with my '02 and it will probably be a while before I get my next one (which I am sure to do).

Keep on Avin'...

Yes, you can set them yourself, though even the dealers I've talked to didn't know this so I guess it's not a well advertised fact.

Open the door with your key fob (#1 or #2), start the AV, shift into reverse, set mirrors to your desired position, shift back into drive, wait for mirrors to move to normal position, press and hold the button on the driver's door that corresponds to your key fob till it beeps twice.

Voila! Mirrors will now move to your desired position when you shift into reverse from now on.

You can also find this in the 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche Owner's Manual which is right here in our Resources section. Just look under FEATURES AND CONTROLS --> VEHICLE PERSONALIZATION.

And enjoy your new '03!

You can get to the link for the 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche Owners Manual Online by clicking the big red box at the top-left of this web page that says "Resources". It's about 2/3 of the way down the page in the right hand column.

The instructions for fixing your mirror reverse tilt are right there in my post.

If that doesn't answer your question lemme know and I'll be happy to help you out.

I know...man...those mirror for the first week were a pain in the butt!! I'd always put in reverse and get ticked off when i looked back and saw concrete. I'd tell myself as soon as i get to my destination, i'd configure it to my liking...but always forgot.

Once set though, they work great. Still want that back-up cam though..

I'm right there with ya! I'm just trying to figure out what the difference is between that and the backup warning systems in both price and coverage/viewable area.

Congradulations Trophyman, looks to me like you made an excellent selection when it came to color. As for me I'm sticking with the Glock 23 and the '02 to carry it.

Congrats to MSUDVM
I just received the following notice from my dealer, "I have great news your Avalanche is here. We are currently working to get the Brush Guard and the mud flaps on. Also I will get it to the store that does the remote starter. " I ordered the yellow Av in November and it is finally here! I will post pics as soon as I have it.

Dan
