Brought ONE of my dubs to the garage this morning, for a preliminary sizing!!! ALL the tech and mechs were DROOLING bigtime!!

BUT , I need new LUG NUTS!! The stock ones are too big!!

Can anyone help me in finding AFTERMARKET LUG NUTS in Canada??
What SIZE?? etc......

Thank you in advance for anyone who can help!!

 Darryl.

Don't Tell me you were gonna use the Stock Lugs on those Sweet Wheels. Is there something in that Newf Air?

Shoot, I cruise down to the Local Speed Shop for Chrome Lugs when I need'em.

I forget the size, but your Shop should be able to tell you that at the very Least.

NJ George!! KIMMEY was asking about you last week!! She has not seen you around the board!! She asked me if you were going to the NIagara GTG!!!

I should be so lucky Yak.....

:)

Hey Yak, bye the way. I can't believe you were going to put those gay ass stock lugs on your new wheels >:D. I can hear those techs right now while shaking their heads, "those rims are bad ass, but those lugs are gay". No offense to gay people, just a figure of speech . Can't wait to see them installed. Welcome to the "DUB CLUB" (y). Mike.

The local GM had some in stock, which they will try but they believe that they may be too shallow in depth??

THey are aftermarket chrome lugs that another Avalanche had tried but were too thin (he only upgraded to 18" rims) !! They didn't look right on his truck so he sold them to the local GM dealer.

THey fit WIDTH wise on my American Racing Raven 20's, but the techs don't think they are long enough.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH WHAT THIS MEANS:
--> ON the TOP of the lug, it is imprinted:

14
1.50

...exactly like that!!

Thanks!

DOes that mean that it fits a 14mm stud with a 1.5mm thread pitch or am I talking out of my ass again ? Mike.

The numbers refer to the same dimensional areas, but are indicated using metric dimensions. For example, a 14x1.5x45 refers to a 14mm thread diameter, a thread pitch of 1.5mm and a thread length of 45mm.

So you are correct Sir Mike!!!

kewl thanks guys.....

so if 14mm and 1.5 are correct, HOW LONG should my NUTS be???

THIS Is a serious question...no derogatory meaning meant!!!

Kewl. You should be in good shape if your nutz are as long as my nuts >:D. Sorry, this one is derogatory--I couldn't pass it up. Seriously, I am not sure. I thought most nuts are the same length unless you add lengthened studs to your vehicle. Now I think I'm talking out of my ass ;D. Mike.

They do vary. The ones on my Ultra 155's had to be quite long as they are recessed. I also had to buy a long, thin-walled socket to get on them. Had a heckuva time finding a socket that was the right size that my lug wrench would fit on. Matter of fact I never did.....I carry a "+" lug wrench with me.

Call the wheel manufacturer, I'm sure they will know.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestion!! I am going to see if I can email (info@americanracing.com) and give them the make of my vehicle and such, and see if they can help me out!!

Thanks everyone!! Karma to all of you who have it turned on!!

Hey Yak, the lugs I have on my 22's are all splined. It almost looks like all of the lugs are wheels locks. It doesn't use a conventional style socket to remove the lugs, you have to use a special spline socket to remove all of the lugs. I am not sure what they are called, maybe someone else can jump in here. I believe they are called gorilla locks or gorilla locking system. I would totally recommend these versus the traditional standard/metric sized socket. There are 2 websites here. The first has a good picture and the second is where yyou can buy them at a decent price. Check ebay too because I have seen awesome prices on there. Good luck bro, Mikesav.

P.S. My neighbor/good buddy is a 2nd manager at Discount Tire Co. (largest wheel/tire retailer in the world) and he swears by these things. It is piece of mind for securing your large purchase--keep those babies safe from those punks.

MIke, thanks for the link!! I was told I will have to definately buy at leave 1 locking lug per wheel for the same reason, and I was thinking along the lines of 2 per wheel, each of a different locking pattern!!

Decent locking lugs will cost you at least 20 bucks for the 5 lugs-one for each wheel. You might as well buy these for $45-50. With this kit, all of your lugs will be locking lugs (y), not just one or two. Have I peer pressured you enough yet? I wish other guys with this setup would chime in on this thread. I wonder if enkeiav uses these. MIkesav.

I wish they provided some pics on their site. I am not sure what cone shaped is. Is it similar to acorn style?Bye the way, the quantity listed is four. That means you will have to buy 2-3 sets. Bye the way, gorilla locks are a household name in the locking lug nut industry. I would try to stay with them----tough as a gorilla (y) MIke.

I'm with Mikesav,

I got all locking gorilla locks on my 22's (same key) and I honestly couldn't be happier with the look and protection. Definitely worth the extra change ;D
