Looks awesome!! Buddy!! Do you have cubes are you going to do that to them?
I'm rethinking this and thinking of putting cubes in the high beam location in the headlight housing since the projectors can be set up for both high and low beams via the solenoid.

some good RIGID spot beams would be cool or there hyper beams better yet and do the halos on them would be sweet!!

Sure thing 09chevyavy
So far all the cubes I've seen are 3" and up. Without major modification to the high beams socket , it would be almost impossible I think. I put the projector shroud for the 2.5' inch projector against the housing and it barely fit in there. In fact it won't fit at all with my strobe bulb in there. I don't want to loose the strobes so I am trying to find at least a 2" inch cube. If I can't find a cube that fits, I'll just have to stick with a LED bulb in there.

All of this is just conjecture while eyeing the lamps on the truck. I'm debating between buying a new set of lamps versus reusing the old.
I can have the lamps off for a couple of days while I work on them once I figure out all that I need to put in them. It's the figuring out that is the hardest.

BTW what size is the cube in yours 09chevyavy?

09ChevvAvy I looked at your thread again and there is definitely no way the cubes you used will fit in my lamp housing so it's back to the drawing board.

They are 3x3" cubes. So they wouldnt work if you arent into doing a lot of trimming and custom massaging.

I know I am soon going to start the process of building yet another set of headlights.
3.0" FXR projector bi-xenon
Cube in the high beam
single row 8" bar with an amber lens as a turn signal (dual intensity thanks to resistors)
Full black housings

I will also do new tail lights
really dark tinted light with 3/4 clear and 1/4 black mixed but not covering reverse light
KC cyclone lights in red in both stop light slots
cube in reverse light spot
painted black housing

Another option is to look at cannon LED's there not super common but come in a smaller thing and they are round.

As far as the LED bulbs go, my choices are the Oracle LED and the VLED  bulb

here's a quick comparison

Oracle LED                            VLED
$160.00                                $200.00
Cree MK-R Chip                      Philips LMZ Chip
2 LEDs per bulb                      2 LEDs per bulb
15W/LED
Viewing Angle 120 degrees/led  Viewing Angle 140 degrees/led
1769 lm @ 15 W (85?C)/led      980 lm (85?C)
fixed led location                    User adjustable led location for best light output regardless of reflector housing
The led specs I pulled directly from Philips and Cree's spec sheets

Oracle website lists these specs:

1 Year Warranty

Both have a good list of features unfortunately they are not comparatively priced.
I like Oracles 2yr warranty compared to VLed's 1 year warranty
The better viewing angle on the VLED means more dispersed light below the  projector cutoff

Gosh my head is spinning from researching these lights

Now if only someone will give me 360 dollars to order both and see which one works best.

This mod is already getting expensive I just ordered a H1 HID bulb kit for comparison purposes. I also ordered 1 pair of
LED bulbs today but am considering ordering the other brand to have handy and compare with the HIDs as well . Also ordered a LED Halo ring and considering color options for the "demon eye" kit I want to use. Finally I am also looking at some plasma switchback LED strips that I want to put in and shopping around for a small cube I can put in the high beam location.

So far this is what I have.

I choose to go with a shroud with a squarish LED ring as I feel like a circular ring will look out of place on a truck with a lot of angles in the front end

At least I want to have enough parts in to do a comparison test before my 30 day buyer's remorse period is up. This way If I test the LED with the projectors outside of the headlamp assembly and I am just not satisfied with the output , I can have the option to scrap the project at a minimal loss. At this point though I have high hopes that'll I'll be able to figure something out.

Where did you get those shrouds and are they for a Mini H1? I have a D2S setup I am looking for a shroud for because the one I have is way too big.
Going in a cavalier... Will need dramatic bucket readjusting to fit but should be worth it for 55watt HIDS...

Yes they are for the Mini H1. TRS sells them. These are the Apollo 1.0 Square. TRS does not sell the square LED rings any longer though. I had to order the rings from an ebay seller here in the US. They should be here sometime this weekend. I post pics when I get them.

I have been looking everywhere for square Amber halos, no such luck. I'm stoked to see what you build. (y)

TRS sells switchback led rings but they are not square unfortunately so that's the tradeoff I have to accept. LED Concepts have nice switchback leds that I've veen looking at. They are very flexible and could very well work in place of square LED ring  LOL I'm using square and ring to describe the same thing in a sentence.

Can you take some pics of the process you do to build these? Might be a mod I will wanna do in the future.
Cheers

Finally some updates I can share.
I had ordered a demon eye kit and square halos last week. Both of them arrived and could not fit so I have to mail them back and think of building a customer ring for the HIDs.

On the positive side I received one of the LED headlights I ordered today and the HID bulbs I also ordered for comparison. I therefore couldn't wait to get started on something.

Here are pics of the LED Headlights I received today.

Here is a comparison with the HIDs to show the light source. This is the mos important piece of the upgrade. If the source of the light differs by enough of a margin the output gets screwed up and everything loks like a complete mess.

My main concern at this point is if there is enough space behind the headlight for the LED to fit.

And Finally It's on.
The HID and the LED are supposedly rated at 6000K but the HID has more of a bluish tint than the LED
Here they are connected to the battery in my Audi.
