Mysterious rivet heads in driveway

In the past six months, two rivet heads have appeared in my driveway; the latest today (see picture).  Earlier this afternoon, I heard something rolling in the body of my 2007 Avalanche Z71 2wd while I was driving, but wasn't sure what it was.  Most likely, the sound came from this rivet head which my wife found on the driveway this evening, since I didn't hear the rolling sound later in the day.

The only issue with my Avalanche lately has been a non-folding passenger side mirror.
Any ideas where these two rivet heads came from?  The mirror?

Thanks in advance!

I just did the folding mirror repair last week on my 2010 and don't recall rivets, there are 3 pins that might look something like those if sheared off but I don't think that is it.. Care to take another picture of the rivets with a quarter or penny or something to help show scale? Might help others identify it

Bainman,

Thanks for replying.  I've attached another picture of the rivets next to a penny.  I did not hear a rolling noise today while driving, but recall now that the noise yesterday seemed to be coming from the glove compartment side; almost like it was rolling around in the dash or the AC blower assembly, possibly the evaporator compartment.  I did have the AC on since I live in Florida.  I will take a closer look at those areas this weekend to see if I see anything missing or broken.

Those do not look like anything I've ever seen on an Avalanche, and I've owned an '03 and now a '13.  I suspect something else-- like maybe somebody moved an old couch with nailheads or something falling off of it....

Thanks for the feedback to those that replied.  I have identified what these rivet head appearing items are.  These are clamp ends from my riding lawnmower that fell off a long time ago, and over time made their way onto the driveway where I park my Avalanche.  I'm just glad it's not parts from the truck.  The mysterious rolling sound the other day must have been a pebble or berry.

Glad you solved your mystery!

That would have driven me bonkers.

Now, if I could only get a couple of those missing 10mm sockets to magically appear out on the driveway.

Luckily, I was looking for something else in my tool box and came across a spare clamp from the lawnmower and noticed the end which was similar to the two parts I found.
