Looky what I saw at the GM dealer the other week:

It was on an 02 2500. I have never seen this trim piece on any other AV before. Where they an option on the 2500?

Note the mounting method:

I took a look at my rig and noticed that I have the holes in my fender to mount these and would like to install them on my 03 1500. I wonder if they have the darker cladding version.

All 2500s have them! And folks have put them on their 1500s for a while now. I think it's standard on the 2500s due to weight of the vehicle making it meet some other regulations but that's just speculation on my part.

If I am not mistaken it is to "cover" the wider front wheels on the 2500 to make it legal in certain East Coast states.

Does anyone have the GM part number(s) for this trim piece? And are any clips required for the fasteners?

Hi Ranch - if you do a search on Over Wheel Cladding, you will find a very long discussion on this subject along with the part #'s and install hints.

I think it is in the Mod forum, but hasn't been discussed for several months.

I got these from Dal at VanDevere. you gotta cut the ones to fit the rear. find that thread. it even mentions what to use for clips(home depot).

there is also a thread about installing them in the rear and what is the best hardware to use as well.....

Irronic master started the hardware thread and well it has good info about the rears too...

WOW... now I feel dumb. I guess I never noticed it before. Then again, I don't see a lot of 2500 AVs either. Thanks for the info guys.

Her's some pics of my 2003 with the tire flares.

The part # is 93440243 and are $23.80 a piece from Dal's. GM parts is cheaper but they kill you on shipping. These end up being cheaper. They do not come with any clips and the clips were a couple of bucks a piece and you need like 16 of them. I used stainless steal bolts and nuts from home depot and it cost about 7 bucks for those.

The back ones have to be cut. I used a miter saw cause it makes a clean cut. The cut is noticable but does not look bad at all. If there is some kind of putty or silicone that you could use to hide the cut marks then it would look great. I tried a silicone but did not work to well.

Ron are those part numbers for the 02 or the 03 coloured cladding? I see by your sig that you have an 03... but in the photos you posted it looks like the extra piece is slightly lighter.

The part #'s are for th 2003. They are the same coler as the cladding. The pics might look lighter because of the way the sun is hitting it or because of the way I shrunk the photo to post.

I like the way they dress the truck up and also incase someone opens there door I don't have to worry about any dings.

I was just looking a the pics myself and I know way the flares look lighter, it's from the reflection off the truck from the ZAINO.
