I'm tempted to start using E85 flex fuel for $3.29 @ galDixieDarling said:filling with
When I first started driving it took $30, from bone-dry, to fill up my Camaro.
I thought i was gonna die when my Rendezvous took $60 to fill. In fact, I only ever put $30 in at a time, unless I was going on a roadtrip.
Now, everytime I get up to $70+ at the pump...and it keeps going I just remember how hoooooorrible $60 sounded and I laugh.

I have a couple stations in the Dunwoody area less than 3 mi from my house. 2 are shell, one is a chevron I believe.DixieDarling said:2 questions:
Do you have E85 in your area ?? I remember when that was all the rage, but you'd burn a whole tank trying to get to a station that had it lol
Second, what are the gas prices near you cause in my area its not far from 3.29
E85 selling for 3.09 today @ Shell station on Winters Chapel Rd.DixieDarling said:2 questions:

Read their article, thnx, doesn't even help the environment much either.enoniam said:You won't get nearly as good mileage with E85 - it will most likely cost you more to run on it.
Here's a quote from Edmunds' web site where they did a test using E85 and gas in a Tahoe with a 5.3L engine:
"The fuel economy of our Tahoe on E85, under these conditions, was 26.5 percent worse than it was when running on gas."
In the same report they quoted an Avalanche driver who was filling up at a gas station who told them he gets 18 mpg on gas, 12 on E85.
They also did some performance comparisons. Even though E85 is higher octane, their stock flex-fuel Tahoe performed better with gas.
So unless E85 is about 30% cheaper per gallon than gas, it is probably costing you more than gas to run it.
Congratulations!raiderron said:I just decided today to name my '02 P.O. Paid off!
