Need Advice on 23X10 Wheels

Hello All,

I am new to the forum and have been reading up on all the insightful posts, thanks in advance for all your help.

I need some guidance on putting wheels on an 04 Avalanche. I want a nice wide wheel, but not something that extends beyond the fenders. Looking for them to be somewhat flush is what I want. I don't have the fender flares (this is a plain WBH).

My questions are:

I like the 23s because they are a nice balance of big wheel and enough meat on the tire to look as though they have tires on. I notice on the 24's and higher that tire sidewall is almost non existant. Am I on the right track here, the 23s do afford about 4 inch side wall, give or take?

I also want to afford some protection from pot-hole damage that might arise from the poor roads in my area. I presume the tire sidewall buffers this a bit. Is this correct? Any other comments welcome.

I have found a couple of 23x10 out there that I like (Enkie Krupt running high on the list right now), what are the bad things I might expect (big wheel-to-fender gap/rubbing/etc)?

Car will not be lowered initially, if I do is this something that the dealer may frown upon and use as an excuse on warrantly work? If not lowered will the 23s still look good (tire/wheel ratio)?

I see that the 305/40/23 is pretty much the standard tire wrapped on this size wheel, will they rub at all? What should I expect?

Wheel offet, what is the wheel offset range that I should be looking at to achieve a nice flush with the fender lip look?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have 23x10 Lexani Wheels and they do rub in the front when on a unlevel surface when turning. I have heard if u lower the back of the AV it will stop! I don't know if that is the case but I will try and see! Will keep u posted!

Thanks for the response, please let me know if your problem goes away after you lower it. Are you lowering the front too, or just the back?
