need new nav disc ???

I've bought a new disk every year because they are constantly changing the roads and display options.  The first disk showed an "S" turn on one road that used frequently and I know there was no "S" because I could look out the window and see the road was straight.  The next disk I got straightend out that section of the road.

The latest disk I got (2011) has the option that if you touch the "compass" pointer, it shifts to a modified 3-D type display.  This is the first year I've noticed that.

My new AVY came with a new disk and now I have two!

I suppose so.  I would make sure that the numbers are a good match first.  They make different versions depening on the model or year or something.

I don't have the disk(s) with me and am out of town.  Will get back late tomorrow and check thsi weekend if you want.

That would be awesome!  (y) The disc in my 08 is a lil outdated so I'm sure whichever one your willing to part with will keep me from driving through open fields...  I'm actually out of town right now myself and the trucks back home, so yeah whenever you get the chance this weekend,no rush, send me a pm with some more info and ill get to doing some checking and see what I need to do, hopefully all checks out... I greatly appreciate it!

Where do you get your new discs from? I have the Delphi 1580000, current disk is 15792651 v4.0 just in case were going to ask.

Just straight stock -  GMNAVDISC.COM

Is the program on disk changing scree format?
I went to enter a destination and asks for street instead if zip first like it should. Of course street, city did not match. My cheap gps works better.

What I have discovered is first make sure that you have set the region correctly.

It doesn't care about zip codes probably becsuse the thing covers all of north america rather than just the US.

I have always found that inserting a new updated disk wipes out your preselected shortcut favorites This latest version I found out today allows you to rotate the display and change the orientation so that North is not in the upper position of the screen.

I don't know what else they change with these updates but it's a lot more than just mapping information.

Good lord!! Please tell me that site has incorrect pricing.  $160 ?!?!?! and that is with a $40 discount!!!!  For that price I will stick with my 2005 disc lol.
Normally $199. sounds like a 20% discount is all they're giving you.

yep ...they are running a fathers day discount ....

If you want a cheaper price check out Ebay ... I paid $100 for a brand new disc last year .....

John

I purchased mine for $50.00 and the guy said he had at least 1 more....
PM if you are interested?

I am also interested in upgrading my disk. I also have 15792651 v4.1 and am told  these are the next disks:
20855830  - 2010
20945770 - 2011

Which one does this person have?  I definitely would rather pay $50 vs. $199.99

The Disk that I purchased is this:

I too just bought an '07 Avalanche LTZ with factory nav but it didn't come with a nav disc at all. I called gmnavdisc.com to see if I could get a replacement for no charge or discount since it didn't come with anything but they said they couldn't do that. Cheapest I found on eBay was $150 for the 2011 version. I've heard that some guys have been successful in copying the new disc's, any chance someone has one they want to part with or 'copy'?

Would you be open to making a copy for me?  However, I am not sure if your version will work in mine...

sorry the 6.0c version only works in 2007 (GMT-900) and newer, I have no issue making a copy, but I know it won't work.

I tried making a copy of 2011 disc for my dads avy and failed miserably. Copied all the files and everything but when I put it in the truck it said it couldn't read the disc. Any suggestions Chevy dude?

you can't copy the files you have to create an ISO file from the DVD and burn the ISO file.  and ISO is a bootable image so the DVD reader can boot the disc software.

I use PowerISO to extract the Image from the DVDs then you can use any DVD ISO Burning program to burn the ISO image ripped to your computer:

HOWEVER

you MUST burn at 2.4x, no faster and no slower, the Dual Layer Discs that the Nav units read cannot read anything burned at any other speed.

Strange ... mine asks for city first, then street, and house or business number last.
