Anyone know of a good place to get torsion keys and spring spacers installed on my Avy in the general Minneapolis area? I just moved here and I need to get these installed before taking my avalanche in for an alignment. Why you may ask? Well I plan on putting my 24" rim and tire package back on in a few weeks when it warms up and I have had some minor rubbing issues when they were on in NJ.
I also noticed that one of my new front tires is wearing off on the outside more so I need to do an alignment before making changes. I don't really mind on the current tires on the stock rims as they will be replaced before the next winter with very aggressive all- terrain or snow tires.

My suggestion is go to autozone and rent some gear pullers and do it yourself. There are some great write ups on here on changing out your keys. I think I was able to change my keys and install longer shocks on the AV in just a couple of hours. I had the help of another member (Ski Edition), but it wouldn't have been too bad just by myself. I just couldn't justify paying a shop a couple hundred for a leveling job.

I could do the keys myself as I am pretty handy. I have replaced all four shocks and installed the shock extenders for the front in preparation of the lift I'll get from the keys myself however the cold weather makes me lazy to go out there to do any work at this time. As for the rear suspension, our jacks tend to compress the spring on one end rather than lifting the truck itself. I currently do not have a jack to lift up the truck and let the rear axle drop enough to compress the spring and insert spacers. So I either have to wait till summer to get the alignment done and wear out the tires even further or pay someone to install it and get my alignment done sooner. For some reason it really irks me driving around knowing my alignment is off even just a little bit and I want it corrected however doing the alignment for the second time after finally installing the keys is not an option I'd entertain.

I'm in the same boat. After installing my keys and coil spacers I neglected to have an alignment done. I have never seen tires wear the way mine have. I have perfectly good tread on the inside of the tire, but the outer tread is a different story. Now I'm having to spend $1000 unnecessarily on new tires. Won't make that mistake again.
