Gents:

Need to get the whole sheebang done. Has anyone done the pad and rotor replacment themselves? Any insight? Should I get it done by a shop (I really enjoy doing it myself...but will use a shop if it requires special tools)?

Any one upgrade the rotors (oem sized)? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Invest in good parts. I'm buying Brembo slotted rotors from the Tirerack and Performance Friction pads.
Brembo has made brakes for race cars for years and I found out about the brand of pads from the maintenance section of a police department. Pursuits are hard on brakes. Your life could depend on your ability to stop. Don't skemp on parts.
Durwin

Durwin is right about Brembo, they are made to withstand the a racecar stopping from over 200mph. However, they cast a $h!t load of money, just for the initial parts, and after that if you need new parts, you have to pay for those as well.
If you want some good brakes and pads that will stop when you want them to, are reliable, durable and proven, get soem slotted or cross-drilled rotors, like powerslot, and some Hawk brake pads. Baer brakes are just as good as Brembo and cost less. But Hawk pads are probably the best pads on the market right now, they are used on Nascar, and they are proven. I am currently in the process of replacing my second set of defective Chevy Rotors and pads in under 49k :8: :E:.
All it comes down to is the amount of money you are willing to pay. If you have the $$$, then go for the 14" Ferrari Brakes. But if you don't want to throw down a lot, then get some powerslots or Baer and Hawk pads.

Your choice. (y)
