Wasn't sure whether this went in interior, exterior or fit/finish.

In any case, here I go.

The sunroof guide has a thingy that lifts up when the sunroof is open.  Today when closign the sunroof, it caught on something.

Apparently there are two plastic parts that attach to the thingy and the rails.

They're both broken.

Any idea what these are and how to replace them?

I fixed both of mine, sorry I cant post a photo yet. Using a large paper clip bend a circle at one end for the rivet to hold down, the other end bent at 90 deg. , to go through a hole drilled horizontally through the long plastic broken piece. put it through that hole a bend again to keep from coming out. drill out the rivet on the rail and rivet down the clip to the rail.  the clip will look like a 6 with the top squared off. make sure you drill the hole in the plastic at the right distance from the rivet . If you need pictures send me a private message. or email d.mohler@yahoo.com  Or if anyone else can post pics, I'll send them and you can post them.  I can't believe Chevrolet would expect a piece of plastic to flex back & forth without breaking.  And not even sell a replacment part.

After rattling for a few weeks, I realized the thingy was coming off. I just pulled and it was not attached to anything.

It is now in my garage.

Do I need this?

Defects some air and helps with the drone you can get at speed. I?ve lived without mine for years I will crack the rear windows to get rid of the drone.

Ahh, thanks.  Since I almost never have the sunroof slid back other than an occasional summer night, I'll ignore it. I do open the sunroof shade on a regular basis and also generally leave the truck parked with the sunroof tilted up. However, that is not affected by the air dam.

They sell aftermarket things that mount ontop of roof todeflect air so cabin noise is reduced.

I did this when mine broke.

BENEVENTO I think... couple of threads on it in MOD: exterior section

I need to find one for my 02.  It has not had one since I bought it and if you don't crack a back window the overpressure when the sunroof is open will give you a serious headache.
