??? Ive purchased some 24" rims and was lookin to get rid of them cause I was worrying about the ride and drivability of the truck. If anyone already has 24s on their Avy or has heard specific things about someone else's please let me know. Can it still be a daily driver if needed or am I going to worry about breaking a rim or blowing a tire. Thanks

I'm a newbie to all this big-wheel stuff but I'd be much more concerned about safety and drivability than I would be wheel damage. Brake capacity tops the list for me given the MUCH larger inertial force changes going from 16 or 17" wheels to 20+". Are we replacing brakes as part of these projects?

I put 22's on my ext last week and no issues with brakes. I had the same concern if I went to 24's. Talked to my dealer and they said was not required to upgrade brakes but it would not hurt. I have noticed an increase in handling and less road bumps with my 22's

thread moved to the mod section for wheels and tires....

take a look in this section...many threads on large wheels...

infact one guy has pics of an avy he saw with 26" wheels...

If you live in MD and the roads are bad as they are here in New England, 24" wheels are not a great idea. IMHO, anyone that says they are getting better ride quality using bigger wheels, probably doesn't have enough air in his tires. Just like bicycles, it's the amount of air pressure in your tires and the amount of rubber that protect your rims.

Now, if you live in the south where roads are much better, 24s are not an issue.

Your choice...slave to fashion or......

well.............in P.G. county(ft washington area).....the new(money ) houses get the new roads while the rest continue to go bad ........plus they use a really crappy aggrete mix for asphalt.......kinda like driving on a packed gravel road on the worst of them..........like around Indian Head
