Folks,

Special thanks to Sgt. Avalanche for helping me out.

I have my new AV "IN MY DRIVEWAY". What a beauty!!! I'm too tired to provide details of the ordeal I went through to get this vehicle, other than I travelled about 440 miles round trip to get it.

I'll tell you the details tomorrow. I'll also try to provide some pics.

WHOO HOO....

Way to Go... hey.. get back out there... there's modding to do >:D ;)

Congrats... Enjoy that awesome truck!

Looks like you got the deal you were after.
Now lets see some photo's of you and your new AV.

Yes...sorry for going overboard with the pics.

You don't know the trouble I went through to get this.

I put a deposit on this vehicle Thursday afternoon. Friday afternoon I'm told by the dealer that the vehicle at the other dealership (in Altamonte Springs, FL), where he was supposed to go get it was sold.

Long story short, I call the dealership in Altamonte Springs Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm out of curiosity. Vehicle was still available. I start dealing over the phone. At 8:30 pm the dealership calls back and agrees to all my terms, financing, everything. Off we went Saturday night to stay in a hotel 3 hrs away. Picked up the vehicle yesterday morning.

If I would have never called this dealership I wouldn't have the car right now.

Honestly,

If I hadn't at such a bad nights sleep the night before and so many beers last night I would have slept in it. My kids sure wanted to.

Congratulations! A Z66 with cladding! Now thats what I am talking about!

Ran into exactly the same situation! Found a new Yukon XL on GMBuyPower that we liked, took that sheet to our local dealer (liked them so far when we took the Av for service) and were told that it hadn't shipped yet and was still in Mexico. To make a long story short, the past 2-3 weeks have been nothing but daily calls between us and the dealer, our saleslady usually telling us that it still hadn't shipped yet and the other dealer wasn't sure if they wanted to get rid of it when they did get it eventually.

So we waited and waited, now that the screwy GM rebates are in effect, and finally found out today that "it looked like it arrived". She supposedly couldn't get the other dealer to call her back and "thought" it was probably sold. Then a couple hours later, called back and said that it was sold, bought by someone "from the company" (whatever the heck that means). :(

Well, remembering the ordeal you went through to get your new Av recently, I took it upon myself to call the actual dealer that it was at. First call he said he was going out to the lot to actually put his hands on it and make sure it was there. Called me back two minutes later and said "Yes, it's here on the lot and is still available." Asked again and was told, "No, it isn't sold." :8: :8: :8:

Our saleslady is really, really nice and I wanted to like her, but she seems to have made up more stories than she's worth! So it's either time for a new salesperson or a new dealer! Calling first thing tomorrow morning and asking what the real story is.... :8: ???

We would just go straight to the other dealer but it's about 2 hours away and we just don't have the time. Then again, it'd probably be worth it to get away from our sales-liar!

Because of my very recent experience, I would say your saleswomen probably doesn't want to deal with going to get it for whatever reason. Maybe her management doesn't have a good relationship with the other dealer or they don't have a car that the other dealer wants to swap their car out for. Could be anything.

Just call the other dealer. Ask to speak with the sales manager and make your best deal over the phone. Go get it before someone else does.

That's the weird thing. She seems more than willing to go get any other Suburban or Yukon we want, anywhere else, but doesn't seem to want to get this one. She actually asked a few times if we were sure we didn't want one of the other ones she found because she could get those "immediately".

Case in point, after telling us that the Yukon was sold, we started considering one of the Suburbans she had also found, and after 5 minutes, she had called us back, told us it was available and gave us all the figures. Must not like this other dealer or something.....also strange, because the guy I spoke to on the phone was great and willing to help in any way (but I kept it brief b/c I thought my inquiry might further confuse these dealings.

She's off tomorrow, I think, and gave us the name of the other salesman there that we could deal with when she's not there. Hopefully he doesn't make up as many stories!

Congrats on your new AV, I'm still waiting for mine to be delivered. Did I miss something? I don't see the pic's
