New AV's

;D In the last couple of days, we have 2 new 04 AV's in town. One with cladding and one without. I am impressed with the new without cladding AV.
Dillon, Montana has at least 6 to 8 AV's running around. Our population in Dillon Montana is less than 4,000.

I've always like the Av, but when I found out that it was going to be offered WBH I was glad. Cladding has it's application and appeal but not for my use or taste.

A friend of mine showed up with an Av WBH but with the wheel flare and molding package. I was so into the no cladding mode that I didn't care for the wheel flares.

About a month later I ran into a deal I couldn't pass up and ended up with an Av WBH and with the wheel flare pkg.

I'm glad now that mine had the wheel flares. I saw an Av just like mine without them and I didn't care for the look.

The WBH truck has the front of a Silverado anyway, without the flares just made it look more like the pickup.

I'm not sure why GM decided that the WBH option would also carry the Silverado front end instead of the regular Av front???

Anyway...I guess once you have an Av the more you se them.

Both are nice rigs

I love the cladding
practical, tough, rough looking... great truck for work... This one gets the L  :eek:ks

The WBH is a little more stylish, not as outstanding in appearance and blends in more.... that's ok too

So what color did you get? I love the cladding AV's but the WBH are growing on me I will all ways own cladding but if I could have 2 I would have one of each

I have to throw in my two cents here. I own a '03 2wd 1500 Av WBH and without flare or body side molding in white ( and man, that's alot of white). Now that I own an Avalanche, I think the cladded models ARE more attractive BUT only because they look more rugged. To me the cladding looks like it should be on the 4wd models, for obvious reasons, and the 2wd models without because it's probably driven mostly on road. My dad has an '03 almost exactly like mine in appearance (actually he bought his first) but his has Z71, 4wd, leather, Onstar, XM, etc. On the highway at 70mph, I doubt most folks could tell the difference. If I ever get the chance to buy another... it'll be cladded... and SOM... and Z71... and... and...

I have found it impossible to tell an WHB AV coming toward me or up from behind from a Silverado. I am glad the general is offering the WBH option for those that want it.

However, it would seem to me if you were gonna get the WBH you just might as well get a Silverado and get a cover for the truck bed and the sliding rear window. "Make your own AV" and would probably be cheaper.

Unless it's a Crew Cab Silverado you can tell by the ribs in the roof. (sometimes you can see 'em) If you bought a CC Silverado instead, you don't get that smooooth Av ride  and you get that loooong wheelbase

My guess is that the front AV fenders are shaped with the assumption there is cladding. Take a close look just above the wheel well and you'll see what I mean. Without cladding those fenders just won't work.

That's a bit excessive, isn't it? Why go with the AV? Room inside the cab mostly, without having something so long that it is difficult to drive. You won't get that with the Silverado.

Why go with WBH? Because some like the look better.

I agree AVS FAN! I am glad they offer both styles to keep guys happy.

I was just commenting on the fact that I can tell its an AV heading toward me or behind me if it is cladded. If it's not then it is like "Oh! That's an AV!" After I see the back end of it.

Both are kewl trucks!! ;D

True enough. I wish they would have kept the round foglamps or something else to differentiate the front end from the Silverado!
