Hi, Was wondering if there are LED Headlights made for the 2003 Avy 1500 with body cladding?

Thanks so much!

Thanks again, I read through your thread and just wanted to make sure I understood how the lights were set up. Did you only need to purchase one kit or two? Did you use your existing housings or purchase new ones?

Any other lighting mods you've done?

I noticed there were lots of opinions.

Thanks again!

You only need to purchase one kit; it comes with both headlights. It's a plug-and-play kit so there isn't any additional wiring and I used the stock headlight housing.

Lots of opinions when it comes to LED headlights used with non-projector housings. Lol but I will say I am a big fan of them! They are bright are light up the sides of the road very well. I can count on 1 hand the number of times I've been flashed by oncoming traffic. Meanwhile, a friend who owns a 2017 Honda CR-V says he gets flashed all the time with his stock headlights. It all depends on if your lights are adjusted properly.

I also installed switchback LED turn signals, Amber DRLs, LED reverse bulbs and a LED Tailgate light bar. I can post some pictures tomorrow when I'm at my computer.

Proper light alignment is important for everyone's traffic safety but as I mentioned in the linked thread above there are other things to consider too:
malbrecht1,
I'm not sure if I would consider it hate thrown your way about LED lighting as much as offering a possible source of problems down the road with modding lights. Each state has different inspection standards and regulations and depending on where you live you could pass or fail the yearly inspection if your state happens to have one. At one time Virginia regulations stated that lights had to be SAE or DOT approved, a specific wattage, and color range, not to mention numbers of lights on and in what location etc. They could also check a book and see if LED or other type of lighting was factory offered and inspected and if not you couldn't put that type in a car/truck that didn't come with it originally. Of course other states were not as picky and may not care.
As far as being legal and using the officer passed me and didn't do anything defense isn't really a good test of legality. Not every cop is a stickler for traffic violations and maybe the cop you saw was on his way home from a long day or responding to a high priority call (they don't always wail the siren and turn on lights when responding to some calls) and decided not to pull you over. You may on the other hand run into a traffic enforcer one day who will write you or your wife a summons.(I hope not though.)
Maybe the comments about lighting are coming from experience of being blinded by an oncoming vehicle whether it was LED, HID or all 4 on modded vehicle, doesn't matter to the one blinded and they are just cautioning you to be careful and try not to cause someone else to wreck and cause damage, injury or death. If you were found to have caused a wreck by blinding someone it could cost you a lot in civil court.
I do understand about wanting to increase lighting to make your ride safer for you though.

I feel for you guttersnipes199 in that since they haven't made a cladded AV since 2006 and they made fewer of them overall it will only get harder and harder to find parts to modify them. The plus side is if you keep a rare model stock and in great shape it will make for a great antique someday.... :B:

Very good points, Vaeagleav. There are many things to consider when making lighting mods.

I don't know if my lights are considered legal, so please use at your own risk.

Mine just says Does not comply with FMVSS108 or CMVSS108.  which is for DRL applications

Thank you everyone for your respones, i wll takw all of them in to consideration when making a decision.

Also, i would like to see the mods you made to your vehicle, whenever you have time to post them.

Thanks again!

If you decide to go with LEDs make sure to measure the back side of them,  they are longer than a stock light bulb.

So here are a few pictures of my LED tailgate light.

I can't find any pictures of my current headlight/turn signal lights, So when it gets darker outside I will take a couple pictures and upload them later tonight.

This is an old picture of the new LED headlight on the right, and Silverstars on the left. I had LED DRLs at the time, but now I have switched to amber DRLs.

You don't want to see mine. LOL You would go broke.

It's 2 set of Extreme LOF and you can't buy them any longer.

For the backup light they are 57 Led Superbright tower white lights

The assembly is Spyder Leds chrome for now, I'm going to pull the  plastic lens off to paint the chrome to body color sooner or later

I was asking if the LED light bar had the white backup LEDs in them?

You put in some serious work installing the lights in the 3rd brake light and sail panels. Looks great! I don't know if I'm up for trying to tackle that mod, as much as I would like to. Very impressive!

Oh, no white light in it just scanning turns, brake and running light.

As long as we are on the topic of LED lights... just installed some LEDs to replace the cargo lights in the bed.

Not bad for $11.99!
