Anyway, folks, nice to meet you all and become a part of the forum. As stated above, I've been around a bit, On-Road, Off-Road, and everything in between. I'm basically an electronics/computer guy (to keep it simple), with a lot more mechanical experience than I wish to admit, and will help where I can, from my perspective.
I lived down in Baltimore for years, and now live in "South Central" Pa. area. Bought my '04 back in March with about 194K miles on her, after being told by people, who really didn't know, that the RV I purchased was too big for my ZR2 to pull.
She was neglected a bit (lights TAPED on... seriously, broken tailgate latch, running boards/kick panels rusted out, door switches not working, weird wiring all over, loose tool boxes, no bed mat... I can go on and on), but I've been slowly but surely bringing her back from the brink.
Took her out for a 4500 mile torture test through the mid-West from June through August, after replacing a water pump (which didn't need replacing) and a $4 gasket (which was the problem); she had to EARN the right to replace my Blazer ZR2 (which was just restored to Factory Specs at 190K miles), and, well, she's still here, so that says it all, right.
So, that's my Avalanche story, in a nutshell, so far, (I'll discuss mods and repairs elsewhere), and I look forward to meeting you all, here and out there!
