Me....live in Great Falls, MT. Love this area and will never leave. No sales tax. With global warming, it won't be long before we start growing bananas up here.

Hello I'm pretty new here, I have a question for the experienced avalanche owners. I recently bought a 04 avalanche 1500 z71. I've done a few little things to it, cat back, 4" cold air, good tune up. Now I'm looking to upgrade the shocks. I'm torn between the skyjacker black max 8500 series an the blisten off road I believe 8500 series as well. Any suggestions would be great. No air ride, or electric suspension. Thank god!!! Thank for the help, you guys are great

Best to ask questions in the appropriate section for most replies (suspension questions in the suspension section etc.) Your question can also be answered in reading some existing posts in that section.

Hi, my name is Josh, I’ve had my 03 Z71 Avalanche for about 10 years now. I joined the group hoping that I could get some help with a weird steering issue that I’m having. I live in northern Ohio.

Hello from Norway folks! I'm new here... Thank you for letting me in! :) My name is Rune Egilson Kaarud and Iive approx. 50 kilometers north east of Oslo in a small place called Vormsund. I have a 2003 Avalanche 1500 with a lot of custom options i think. I just bought this car a few weeks ago so I'm pretty new to this type of Chevy "truck". I've been looking for an Avalanche for years because I just love this car. The look of it and also the feeling of driving one. I think the Avalanche is a real "Chevrolet classic" and owning one, restoring it to top condition has been my dream for many years. I'm going to post a few pics of my Avalanche so you more experienced Avalanche owners can maybe help me describe what kind of custom brakes I have in my car. (I can see that my brake calippers is not like the original one seen on other Avalanche's from 2002 - 2006, much bigger discs also) Need to replace pads and also fix parking brake and dont know what/ where to order? Earlier I have owned Chevrolet pickups so I'm not entirely new to Chevrolet cars. For this cars I have ordered parts at Rock auto. I also restoring an Chevrolet 1933 model these days, but this is an entirely different story. :)

Welcome to the site nesco77! Take some time to look around and get familiar with the various boards on this site. You may have trouble at first posting photos until you have enough posts on the site or use the photo gallery to post links. There is a thread that explains photo posting.
As far as questions or problems it's best to post in the board that has that topic, such as brake questions in the brake section etc.
Some owners swapped out their first generation brakes (2002-2006) for the second generation (2007-2013) brakes which were larger and stopped better. Some owners also went the aftermarket route as well.
