Hi all Avalanche owners!
My name is Yakov, i'm from Finland, my occupation is psychotherapist and i'm now a proud owner of 2002 8.1 AV 😁
The car imported from US st 2010. I got an original window sticker and some receipts from Walmart. The car came from Clinton Iowa, may be the previous owner is here somewhere? 😊

Hi fan club! Steve here. I have a Blue 2005 Avalanche 1500 Z71. Glad to have found this great resource!
(Hmm, apparently I joined in 2005 when I bought it! Well… glad to be back!)

Hey guys new to the forum, was a longterm Fullsizechevy.com forum member but havent been active on any forum since they shut down!

Have had a ton of GM Trucks/SUVS (98 GMC/01Silvy/03 Tahoe/05 Sierra) and most recently had a 15 Denali/17 Denali Duramax but got sick of always fixing stuff on the newer pickups. Went back to older pickups as they are easier to fix more reliable!

Currently running an 07 LTZ Avy as a daily/work rig which sits on 275s. Full load + sunroof, 5% rear tint 20% up front. LED headlights/tails. Superchips Flashpaq + CAI, gutted cats and a MagnaFlow 14" muffler. It's a bit rusty in places but still runs fine, 332,000 KM (206K miles) and climbing.

I also couldn't resist a good marketplace buy on an old 1st gen last month.... picked up 02 2500 8.1L Avy with 196,000 KM (121K miles) for $3500. It was sitting for nearly a year, and almost stolen. I have fixed the ignition and got it running now, planning to resto this old truck and give it some love. I have a level kit, newer GM 8 bolt 20's waiting to go on with 33s, new headlights, and a MagnaFlow 18" dual in dual out ready to go on it. Crazy to think these old 2500's will tow 12K pounds with ease.. looking forward to keeping it as a backup truck + tow rig.

Hey 👋 fellow Avalanchers!! Became an AV owner 2 yrs ago. Its a 04 Z71. Fully understood it needed some work. But can't complain much only had 156,000 miles with moderate rust. Did brakes and rotors plus a gas line after purchase. It rides and handles like a champ! Definitely did what it needed to do through these Ohio winters 🥶. Till recently. Need an oil pan gasket. Just replaced the alternator Sunday and it started stalling also. Thanks for allowing me to join! Looking forward to chats and possible hangouts!

I'm the original owner of a 2004 Avalanche, given to me by my parents new when I graduated high school. I still drive the same one and keep it up to date as much as possible. I've fixed TONS of problems over the years. I've also fixed "almost" everything myself; from painting it (lol matte black rattle cans haha), 4x4 fixes, installing/upgrading CarPlay system, electrical issues (grounding junk), actuators for ac, leaking storage area (constant problems), etc etc etc. Pros have replaced transmission, heat pump, ac, plugs, dash control panel, rear main seals, busted brake lines, oil pan gasket, etc etc everything almost but the engine lol.

My twin brother has another 2004 Avalanche, so we have had all the same issues over the years--makes troubleshooting easier when there are two of the same models.

Love my truck and I hope to drive it for many more years. I hit the 200,000 mile mark a few months ago.

I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I have had to trial and error a bunch of stuff on the truck over the years. Glad there's a place where people still enjoy them!

My next project: interior seat covers/upholstery and redo the dashboard look.

Hello everyone. I never realized what a cult classic the Avalanche is. I was turning wrenches at the Chevy dealer when they made their appearance. I wasn't really that impressed with them. It wasn't until this year that I acquired one...
2004 1500 Z66
I don't have the service connections that I used to have so finding service info uts on the internet like everyone else now.
I'm finding these trucks are AWESOME.
I' m sure I have plenty of GM knowledge tat could possibly help a lot of you. Also I'm sure some of you know way more than me about Avalanches and I'm happy to have your support.

Thanks
We'll be talkin

Hey guys. Just joined the group. Bought an 02 avalanche z71 in 2021 that needed a lot of work. They had the sun roof sealed up due to a water leak(it’s the mid gate seal.) After about 100 miles. The motor blew. So I swapped in another 5.3 liter. Today , I Swapped the driver seat with 04 Escalade seat(working on wiring it in). Radio doesn’t work.(been researching into the amplifier and what not.) sorry to be so thorough, I enjoy working on cars.

Hey folks
New AV owner here...
Trying to spruce up the old girl. and trying to do it on a budget.
04 Base model... but it's nice.
I'm looking forward to reading through the posts and catching up on wheel/ tires, lifts versus lowering, dash replacement, stereo upgrades, brake upgrades, etc.

Jerry
