Hello all. I have wanted an Avalanche since I first saw one. Finally got a 08 LTZ after my Jeep got rear ended and Totaled. It needs a bit of fixing but not much. So far love it. Bought it 55 miles from home and drove like a luxury vehicle.

Hello fellow Avalanche Owners. I've been lurking here for a while and finally posting after reading quite a few threads about hitches, towing, maintenance and electrical topics. I bought my 2011 Avalanche about a year ago with 182000 miles. After test driving several other used trucks of similar age, F150, Silverado, Ram, and being less than impressed with ride quality, the Avalanche's ride sold itself to me. Smooth and quite with linear power and decent tow rating.

The functionality of the vehicle has proven to be superior as well. I traded in a kayak and the salesman though I was trying to pull a scam because he couldn't see the kayak inside the vehicle. He was amazed when I dropped the tailgate and pulled out a 9.5 foot long boat. I also use the Avy to tow a 26ft. camping trailer. Definitely a softer ride than most pickups but with a weight distribution hitch and a little extra air pressure in the tires, the Avy does fine.

New here... Kinda. I think I signed up 3-years ago when dad passed... Mom never did sell his truck and when she passed, I inherited it and decided to keep it for now. 2013, LTZ. <50k miles... I haven't owned a truck or SUV in 20+ years. Not a huge fan of how they drive, but I'm looking into a 2/4 or 3/5 lowering kit that will also firm up some of slop in the handling. Might do sway bars as well. Looking for a solution that keeps the rear end air functioning as it should. Also not a huge fan of how high the seats sit. Wish they would go lower, but that's probably because I'm used to driving cars.

I also picked up another set of wheels as I'm not a huge fan of the bling.... but they were on a 2017 silverado, so I'm not sure if the TPMS is the same. Also in the future will be a different head unit.

The space is nice, my daughter loves the size of the back seat and the TV. Its quiet, smooth, stereo sounds nice, and it can tow my MR2. My friends with newer trucks are jelly of some of the features like the side coolers, fold down gate, ventilated seats.

Still learning about it. Ive owned numerous subies, an MR2, and a VW TDI, so working on a chevy might be new to me (or it might just be the same crap)

madlife you might be fighting an up hill battle on the suspension mods you want to do to your AV. The LTZ suspnsion is self leveling and meant to provide a soft Cadillac type ride. Once you get used to riding higher then a car you will probably like it a lot. Get to see better and will be seen better as well. God forbid if you get into a wreck it would be safer for you and your family to take an impact lower on the AV and your bodies then if you lowered the AV and the impact came higher.

Hey all, have a 2013 Avy Black Diamond LS. Bought it new and I've never owned a vehicle longer. It has a great ride and although I tend to change vehicles fairly often, whenever I get that itch, I can never pull the trigger.
It's also been very reliable. Other than maintenance, I had to replace the AC condenser last summer and just replaced the 3rd brake light as it somehow got waterlogged.

Madlife I hope you realize 50k miles is super low. Great value to this truck if you keep it in prime shape. A lowering or lifting will decrease the value by half and getting parts in the future a Huge pain in the A. I'm sure your Dad loved it but if its no sentimental value to you, sell it for Big $ now and buy what you really want!
