New Members Say Hello & Post Here First

I've always been a ram guy recently purchased a avalanche and have fallen in love with it it's a 05 in perfect condition I'm looking forward to the rerelease of the new avalanche

New member here! Recently purchased a 2007 Av LT 1500. Will post picture soon. Definitely looking to learn from this thread regarding where people are getting non-mechanical replacement parts.

Just purchased a 2007 4x4 Avalanche. 161k miles on it bought from the original owner with a clean carfax and window sticker/books. Black with s gray leather interior (LTZ). Few things to get done and I’m hoping to get 50-60k more miles on it without major issues. I see many here have some crazy mileage…hope to join ya with the high miles!

Hi my name is Jim Yackmack I bought a 02 avalanche about 6 months ago and I’m trying to bring this truck back from the dead. This is the first truck I have ever bought just because life didn’t allow it at the time.

Loved the big block El Caminos!! 30k on an 08?? Geez that’s low!! I’ll buy that when you want to sell!! LOL!!

Steve here, a new member. Bought my 2013 Black/ebony Avalanche with 95k miles on it around the end of July after about three weeks of searching. I began my retirement plan by getting my teardrop camper and quickly realized my fully restored and modified 87 Toyota pickup with a new, custom built 22R (original equipment) 4 cylinder engine built for torque, was not going to work as planned. Torque it has, but HP it doesn't I found out. At 50 mph, or a headwind, or a small hill, it completely runs out of steam. Thinking after that disappointment that a new Colorado with the baby Duramax might work pretty well but might still struggle out west in the mountains. While walking my dog one afternoon I noticed a black AV go by and I remembered that I have always liked that truck. The search began for a 2013 black LTZ with the HD tow package. This truck is so much more than I was expecting! I've never had a vehicle this loaded. Like a Cadillac inside and such a great looking truck. This one is so clean and obviously was well cared for and garage kept (1 owner). I'll be looking into new tires and wheels next spring, retractable running boards and the list goes on! I'll do all the mods myself as I did with my Toyota restoration. Tows my new toy easily and sounds great with the new Airaid intake pipe (given to me by a neighbor) with the stock filter box. Such a beautiful intake roar revved up! Look forward to learning some things from all of you!

Hi; Jack B. here, and a long time owner; but a brand new member. Have owned a 2011 LTZ since it was 6 months old and in my mind, probably the most ideal light truck design ever. I have several other vehicles including a new Escalade, but will never sell my Avalanche. Now if I can figure out how to insert a pic??

Hey all!, Don here, new to this forum but have had several Avalanches, currently have a ‘07 Z71 LTZ all aluminum 5.3, 20” rims, white w/black & gray leather with 154,000 miles and looking to replace struts and shocks. Any opinions on parts would be great. Been searching for awhile. Highway use and around town mostly with some off-road

Welcome all new members!
Punk55 if you read in the sections on maintenance and mods under suspension you will find many threads with info and photos. The easiest and most trouble free way to improve a faulty suspension on an LTZ is to use GM replacement parts checking all parts including lines and compressor. There is an aftermarket company as well that some members have used with good results. If you try to replace the expensive LTZ suspension with more standard shocks you will get error codes and warnings on your dash unless you get devices to trick the AV sensors.
