I am seriously looking to buy a 2012-2013 AV - LTZ 4x4 - I really like the 2013 black diamond - since I am new I was wondering if this forum posts AV's for sale - I seen a lot of very old posts

Also considering the Cadillac EXT 2013 but not too good on gas.

Any thoughts or forums that post AV or RXT for sale.

Also when I find the right AV I would like to get a good extended warranty - any thoughts of this - I have been told to stay under 125k miles to qualify for a warranty. I did get a quote from Endurance very expensive and not for me. Ace auto protect has a decent price but I don't know anything about them.

Any thoughts or comments are appreciated - thanks don
Hi, yeah extended warranty are always a concern. I made the mistake of buying a Jeep Wrangler from a Ford dealer. The mistake was getting their extended warranty. They told me if anything happened to it to bring it back to them. Just 3 weeks after buying it the check engine light came on. The code was for a probable thermostat issue. Of course when I took it to them, they said they don’t work on jeeps. I should have marched right in and canceled the warranty, but I didn’t. Then I took it the the Jeep dealer and they wouldn’t honor the warranty companies labor rate. $400 dollars out of my pocket later it was fixed. I recently sold the Wrangler after having it a couple years. ( it’s not the greatest highway vehicle) My Avalanche is a 2011 with 105,000 miles. I went with Endurance. They answered all my questions. They were a bit high, but so are powertrain components. I take good care of my Avalanche and fix most things myself but as I get older and the outside temperatures rise that becomes harder. If and when I use Endurance I’ll try to post the results.
Bye for now.

So many of the extended warranties are money scams. Better off without them in time savings or other hangups.

I fell victim to one on an early car that had an oil change clause in it which said every 3,000 miles. Not at or near, but exactly. If not, the entire warranty was voided.

If decided to get one. Read the fine print. All of it... Start with the exclusions.

Hi everyone!

Sinn from Pennsylvania here with a 2013 Luxo Blue LT 4WD.

It took a few months to find a decent Avalanche in my area since most have dealt with road salt and are rotting out even under 100K miles. Luckily I found one for sale locally at a dealer who buys a few vehicles over the Winter when he is in Florida on vacation and this 2013 was one of them! Typical surface rust on bare metal bits underneath here and there but the body is rust free.

I do have some questions and seaches have ben great to answer most but I may need to throw a few out to the community now and then.

Anyways, happy to have an Avalanche in my fleet and joining a community supporting them!

I have a 2012 LTZ with 180K miles but it still looks and runs great. Has anyone ever experimented with painting the black tonneau cover. I’m really getting tired of trying to bring it back with Mother’s Back to Black. I imagine it would have to be pressure cleaned then a special primer of some kind; as well as a special paint.
Has anyone tried something like that before?
Replies appreciated.
