New Members Say Hello & Post Here First

Hello all!! I’m new to the forum/group! I am a happy owner of a 2002 Z66 with 261,XXX miles. I have done very little to the truck since I bought it. I have done black headlights and signals, LED taillights, LED headlights (high and low), LED fog lights, and a 3”/4” drop.

Hello, After being gone for 9 years(lost my 2006 Z71), I'm back with a 2013 LT! I can tell this was someone's baby, from the east coast, your Avalanche is in good hands :) Much restoration and many mods planned :)
Ok, $1650 in service/maintenance to get her back to spec mechanically, leather reconditioning, weathertech floor mats, new key and fob, new LED Alpha Rex headlights and a new Kenwood wireless Airplay compatible stereo, have all been completed! Next and final mod are some glossy black wheels and then she's done! Looking forward to years of use and maybe a new 6.0 or 5.3 w/forced induction in her future!!!

Hello everyone, I am the proud new owner of a 2007 LT3 4WD with 143kmiles that I purchased last weekend from a dealership less than 24 hours after it was traded-in.
I live in the Washington DC area and I have been looking for an avalanche since last november. The local market is absolutely insane on those trucks. Rusted ones go for around $7K-$8K with 200kmiles.
This truck is a work in progress. It has a few mechanical issues but nothing that I can't fix myself.
My plans are:
1. Fix a few seals on front and rear diff, power steering and oil pan swap as mine is showing some cracks. Swap fluids in Tranny and Diffs.
2. Brakes upgrade as my calipers are getting quite rusty.
3. Suspension refresh to aluminum. Control arms are showing their age. and struts are rusted out.
4. Tow hitch replacement. Arleady looking at the draw-tite.
5. Backup camera and Dash stereo upgrade.
6. A good cleanup and recoating of the frame as surface rust is starting to show up quite a bit.

Oil cap was showing quite some sludge. so I will be doing a oil quick change regiment to try to cleanup the internals. Have any of you use MMR or seafoam ?

All in all, this was the best avy I could find at a reasonable price. I paid $11K out the door with taxes and tags so I am not sure if it is a good deal or not but It is fully loaded and I love it. Pics will follow when I get approval from admins. ;-)

Hi everyone!
I bought my 2007 LTZ brand new in April 2006. The dealership got 2 in at the time...black or white. I took the black. Only downside is that it is a 2 wheel drive. (I was living in Florida at the time, regional perhaps?) I've been in Denver a few years now, and this thing just sucks in the snow! I still love this truck, but would selling a 2 wheel drive Avalanche be next to impossible? I love the versatility, and am praying they come back in the near future.

Hello All, Left a deposit yesterday on a 2008, LTZ, 140,000. Will be bringing home tomorrow. Having driven Ford Rangers for the past 30 years this thing feels like a Greyhound bus. But I rode and drove firetrucks for 10 years a while back, guess I'll get used to it. I'll probably be here with more questions but right now, what are the round circles on the lower part of the rear bumper? And how to take care of the leather?

Welcome! Just wait until you do some highway driving, I bet its like driving on glass compared to the Ranger! I'm still surprised how well these things drive.

The circles are the backup radar sensors that beep when you are about to back into something. For the leather, get a cleaner and a separate conditioner and follow the directions on the bottle. Keeping them clean and moist (conditioned) will keep it from cracking and make it look nice too.

Looks about the right price especially if you love it. Time for some new parts and upgrades. I just got an '04 Av, same mileage as you and has new front end steering and new tranny. Glad i didnt have to do it. They also did an undercoating. I just have to get decent rims and tires and shocks. Got my eye on Ranchos. As for your sludge maybe try a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer in your regiment. Just dont over fill the capacity.

New member here. I don't have an Avalanche yet, but I think it's going to be my next daily. I recently drove a rough version and really like what it was. Maybe I'll fix up the one I drove or hold out for a nicer version.
