New Owner - Just picked up my new '04 2500/8100

I just took delivery last Wednesday, Dec 31, of a new Sport Red Metallic '04 2500 with 8100 engine.

It's got:

MSRP was $45,330
With incentives, rebates, cash-back, and discounts I got it for 32,300 + tax, title, license, etc

Out the door for $34,600. This is in the Chicago market, just curious if this seemed like a good price. I feel it is but just wnated to make sure. Of course it's too late now, but it's always nice to know after the fact.

Also, I plan to use this to tow a 11,000 boat/trailer (35' Cigarette Racing Team). Does the tow platform need to be upgraded at all. It's got a sticker on which says 12,000 lbs, but is anything else recommended? Air bags, etc?

All the 2500's come with 16's and the cladding on them, he didnt specify the 4x4 or 2x4. both models come with the same 8 lub HD 16" wheels

good deal. i was looking for one of those monsters as well. the had to order, or locate one for me. had i done that i would have paid sticker. i just took the Z71 1500 they had in stock for $38k instead. it originally stickered for $43k. congrats!!!
 
Alot better deal than I got on my new 02 last year :8: Would love to have some of those cool newer features on mine. Sounds awesome, welcome to the 2500 club (y)
 
That sounds like a great deal! I was told that they are no longer making a 2 wheel drive 2500 so I am guessing it's a 4X4.

Yes, it's 4x4 and as mentioned all 2500's have the cladding.

I wasn't initially looking for an Avalanche, we went to the dealer looking for a 3/4 ton Suburban. The dealer didn't have any, but I noticed this 3/4 ton AV. Kinda jokingly, I said "what about an Avalanche, it's basically a Suburban with a pickup truck bed instead of the third row seat", to my wife and after looking at it, she liked it. So we bought it the next day. She gets a GM Supplier discount so that's what really made the deal.
