The quest for the ultimate sub solution for the AV, which allows us to use the midgate, will never end. I?m working with a Germany company and having the system totaly redone. I?m going to have them rewire the entire thing. I?m also installing 2 more RF 8? s and another amp. I?m also going to have two capacitors installed.

Now you might be thinking to yourself, not another midgate design, well, your right. I?m going to have 4 8?s under the seats themselves enclosed in fiberglass. All the amps will be placed on the floor and covered flush with plywood. I?m going in next Thursday for the initial measurements.

If anyone has this type of setup, I would love to see some pictures?

I?ll keep ya?ll posted.

Good luck,
Damon

Well the work has begun. The AV is sitting in the stereo shop practically gutted. Its was almost too hard to look at, all her parts sitting out, striped to the bone. :C:

I have three main goals in rebuilding my system.

First is fixing the wiring that is causing my 10.5? screens to blow. :8:

The second goal is to add more bass with the functionality of the midgate. :E:

Third, make it clean. ;D

Here?s what has happened thus far? (y)

They started building the boxes under the seats today. They want to try to different approaches: First , is to make the boxes out of wood. One is built and installed. Looks ok.
Second, is to use fiberglass. I?m leaning toward the fiberglass myself. Cost more, but the finished look would be worth it in the end. I think it will look better when I highlight the system with neons. ???

They started Dinomateing (sp) the floor, roof and doors

Tuesday I hope to have the final decisions made about the amps and DVD/TV location. It was suggested that I get rid of the three amps and just go with one 1000 w 8 chancel amp. This would look a lot cleaner. I just don?t feel like spending another $750 if I don?t have to.

Anyway,

I?ll also have some pictures to share with you. :D

Until next time
Rob

Nothing special, just 4 RF 8" punch :p

I order them online. I was going to go with JL Audio but I?m running out of money. Lol Hey, What AV do you have?

I'm PCS'ing back to the states at the end of this month and will be picking up an 04 DBM WBH Z71 loaded

I?ll have some pictures tomorrow. I?m going there at lunch to discuss all the options and put it on paper.

Hello everyone! Well here are some pictures to start it off. I?m going to stop in and take updates as things get finished.

BTW,

I?m adding a new AMP, 5 and some interior neons. I?ll post the specs on the amp soon.

Let me know what you think so far?.

Looks like you have your work cut out. But it's all starting to take shape (y) They must love you over there. Just don't wake them up with all the BOOM!! >:D

Well I stopped by the shop today to take a peak in on their progress?

Well, all the new cables are run and the box for the other seat is almost done. The new AMP arrived and it?s a monster. It?s about two feet long! I forgot to get the specific on it, so I?ll let you know Monday because the shop is closed on the weekend.

Anyway, here are more pictures

I stopped by today and their almost done. He?s telling me tomorrow now. I don?t mind the wait if it means he?ll do the job right. The headliner was reinstalled and the new 10.5? TFT screen was installed. I also noticed he replace the 8 gage power supply with a blue 4 gage cable. Looks good with the blue hose kit I?m running.

He still needs to cover the boxes with tan carpet, but it has not arrived yet. He also is going to redo the first box he built. He is going to make it look like the three banger box. He also still needs to find a new location for the DVD/TV player.

More to follow?
