Had new wheels installed today. Went with polished Pythons from American Racing in size 17x8, using the stock 265/70/17 rubber (for now). I think ChevyNut was putting them on his Av as well. The polished alloy is really bright - almost chrome-like. The pics aren't great, since I was dealing with a setting sun, but it should give you an idea of what the wheels are like installed. I happen to love them. (I hope I posted these pics corectly)

hey newbie,

as stated above, webshots is an excellent site to post pictures from. the only problem is it only allows links to the site.

if you want to post the picture in one of you messages, you'd be better off using picturetrail.com.

there you can upload pics, then copy the property (url) of whatever pic you want to appear in you post, and paste it onto the post for it to appear. the only change you have to make is after pasting the link, change the extension from .ptp to .jpg and you're set.

let me know if you need anymore info. i have an album on both sites, webshots to show my truck and stuff, and picturetrail to upload pics i want to show in my posts.

hope this helps...

Like the rims!!!
As far as what everyone else has said, I started with Webshots then Webphotos and have finally ended up with Picturetrail. I like the last the best because you can upload more pictures at one time and transfering to this site is so much easier.

The wheels look great. I am looking to get wheels and trying to decide to either go with aftermarket wheels or chrome dip the factory wheels. ??? I would go with the Pythons or Atlas wheels.

What backspacing did you get? I'm looking for some new rims for my truck, I want to get some 16x8's since I've got my oversized tires coming.

Very nice looking rims....I like those alot....I believe the backspacing on those would be 41/2....I could be wrong...

I was in the market for new rims, but I just dropped 9 g's on a new Yamaha waverunner this past weekend..so things are going to progress a little slower than expectec....

The rims were about $180 each plus installation. Ordered them at a local wheel/tire shop - took about 4 days to get them. I like the Pythons more everyday. Thanks to ChevyNut for the idea.

oops...forget to comment on backspacing. I'm not sure, but I believe NJAV is correct at 41/2. I'll try to remember to verify.

Ave,

Glad you like them. I can't wait to get my set soon. Makes me feel good that all of my sleepless nights on what to do and what to get helped out. I'll let you know when I've got mine. In the mean time, keep on enjoying the American dream in the CHEVY AVALANCHE!

I stand corrected folks, the backspacing on the pythons with the 6/5.5 is 5 not 4 1/2....the Atlas are 6/5.5 backspacing of 4 1/2.... ;)

If you like these wheels. check out eBay auction #1813453620. 16 x 8. Similar to the Pythons/Atlas ARE

Nice choice! I went with chrome ones:

Ordered mine today!! ?Also chrome. ?Great looking wheels!! ?Thanks for the tip, everyone!

How often do you have to polish the aluminum wheels to keep them looking that good? Sharp ride, BTW!

I waxed them twice when I first got them two months ago, and have done very little since then, but they still look great. For whatever reason, these Pythons don't seem to collect brake dust like every other wheel I have owned.
