I have to say the windshield wash design should really be redesigned. Having it exposed really causes a lot of freezing problems even if you have the de-icer wash. And most of the times you would need it will probably when its cold and snowing and you need to get the dirt off your windshield.

I agree. I'm not a fan of attaching the washer nozzle to the wiper arm. I've previously had cars with this type of washer set up but at least the wipers were hidden under the cowl and heat from the engine would eventually thaw the lines. With the AV, they're isolateed from the engine heat and only sunshine or atmosphere warm up unfreezes them. I've yet to find a commercial, premix solution that prevents the lines freezing on the AV. Anyone know a a brand that does yet not so strong that it hurts the clear coat ?

Alcohol.....but mix it strong.....it will remove wax and such from your paint....well heck any type of antifreeze will.......

Sorry.....

Prestone DeIcer works in my AV and so far no line frezze.. only been down to 20 degrees here in NJ. The bottle says good to -10 degrees F. has not down anything to my clear or paint... have been using this for three cars and never had problems.

Bonedog

Thanks---I'll see if I can hunt some down. I've already had it freeze up this past Monday. Very annoying ! Wonder how many squirts it'll take to empty the reservoir ? Ah well, my new Piaa silicon blades won't mind the extra work.

Maybe I'll let my wife use my AV for the day. She's a compulsive windshield washer. I have to filll up her car's reservior about every other week.

maybe more but I use alot each squirt... I work in an industrial area and when I get crap on the windshield it is mostly desil fuel mixed with grease from the road plus the rain and other fun stuff.
