Jan 16th 2004 my truck became the first registered Avalanche in NZ.
I took it to a swap meet of enthusiast at Kumeu over the weekend and with an attendance of over 40,000 it created much interest.
The only other Avalanche to arrive here is a 2500 and has to be converted to RHD before it can be driven on NZ roads.
If anyone wants help bringing a truck to NZ just email me or any info on NZ. Have had fun this month of vsititng Lord of The rings movie sites. Good 4wd country.

So again WELCOME TO THE CLUB
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for the welcome.
I bought my truck in Halifax, NS Canada in June and drove it down New England, Cape Cod, New York and then spent the summer in New Jersey and Maryland before driving cross country through Virginia, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and putting the Ava on a ship out of Los Angeles in December.
Being a totaly seperate country 1200 miles away,Australian rules are quite different to NZ.
Mine is still LHD as I owned it in the USA for over 90 days. Find the driving experience very good here as you can keep to the offside of the road and away from head on traffic in the country and in the city streets you can keep away from parked cars and see drivers pulling out alot easier.
:eek:Of course being a lefty it sure gets the looks and when you pull up to the lights next to the lights with a RHD you are eye ball to eye ball and only 3ft away from the driver.

That was some drive you had cross country, Pictures, Pictures on this site we must have Pictures you must have some please please post some PICTURES
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Welcome to the club! loved the camping photo and am looking forward to more photos from down/around&over there!

Lots of 4wheeling, ya say? hmmm... that would be fun.

Any more interesting experiences being the only LHD AV in NZ?

Again, welcome aboard.

Its clicking over 170.000 km now, hooked my new A-van Legend Adventure Caravan to it this week and headed 550 km west to the Poverty Bay region of New Zealand. Slight problem with Transmission heating going up our steep hills so looks like a TRU-Cool addition is required.
