September GTG

In the spirit of getting the ball rolling for the next GTG how about meeting at a park (kids and adults can play games, volleyball or something, drink beer (parents only) and then head over to the Quarters on Wyoming for something to eat. This way we can kick the tires at teh park. People can burn up a few calories (especially kids) play9ing in the park and then everyone has to eat. Quarters is pretty good and reasonably priced.
If you can't make the park then come for dinner or vice versa.

Sound ok? Other ideas?

I'm thinking either the 11th or the 18th. I know one of those weekends in the Southern regional so I would say the other weekend. Saturday seems more logical to me just because having two kids one tends to run around preparing for the next week come Sunday afternoon. But if Sunday is better for everyone it works for me.

October GTG

Balloon Fiesta runs Oct 2nd - 10th. Mass assention is a good time to site around and shot the bull etc. Last year we went to a lot off of Wyoming north of Paseo del Norte. We have a pretty good view of things from there. We could do that again or .... {suggestions?}

As there are several new folks to the local chapter - what all would you like to do? :0: Fall is a good time for mods!

The 11th is the Southern Regional Meet and the 18th is the day of the SoCal Mega meet. So if you have it on one of these days I'll have to catch you all on the next GTG.

I'm game for anything, but the way it goes is I'm always working :E: :E:. I yet need to GTG with you all and catch up on things. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed to get the time off for the Palo Duro meet. Everything you guys plan and do I'm missing out :6:.

The park sounds like a great idea and I really like the idea of going back to that lot that we went to last year. The view was awesome.

Either of those weekends would probably work for us.

Hey - sidenote - I hauled 4000lbs of pea gravel in the back of the Av yesterday from la farge. I was very impressed. Turned the Av into a lowrider for about an hour (y)

And FYI - there has been a lot of development around the Wyoming / Paseo area. There is still an open area where we were last year but Wyoming is now 4 lanes (something they have been working on for the last 6 dang months)
I will keep you all posted.

So does that mean you are almost ready for our assistance putting the jungle gym together?

Any problems with having the Sept. GTG on the 4th or 25th? I'll be here for both those weekends. Hate to miss it but have already comimitted for the 11th and 18th.

The 4th is Labor Day weekend, so I didn't think it would be a good time to schedule a GTG. The 25th is fine, just getting close to the balloon fiesta GTG which I assume is goin to be the first Saturday or Sunday am.

Hey NMAv - we are closer. We just finished doing the new dog run. We now have to purchase and place the RR Ties.
by the way, where did you get the RR ties for your yard? we checked Pete's and they have them for $8.50 for 8 feet but they are out of stock.

Thanks!

Romero's Lumber has 9 footers for ~ 8 if you buy in quantity. I'm buying 150 tomorrow.... arg

Sounds like good reasons to me. Have fun and I'll see you all at the Balloon Fiesta GTG.

Sounds like everybody is sure busy this month with regionals, jungle jim construction...Sounds like the balloon fiesta would be the best time to meet up.....Just my 02. I know my kiddos would like the balloon glow, I'm planning on attending this year since it has been to long since I had been to fiesta park. Hope everybody is doing fine; sure has been quiet around here for the past few days :-X. Have a good one. L8trs.

Hey - Jungle Gym construction is proceeding slowly, but as a side note, I was able to carry 2.14 tons of pea gravel in the back of the Avalanche. That is 4280 lbs ;D

enough to cover our new Dog Run ;D

Excellent!!!

Welcome to the club"Snoball". How did you hear about the club, as you will find out, you will get bitten by the mod bug soon...he...he. As far as the GTG I don't know much, I live in Grants. Have you heard about the Palo Duro GTG you can find it under CAFCNA meets and cruises. I'll be attending as well as a few other members from the NM Chapter, you should make plans to go as there will be other members from other states and get an idea how much fun this place is and check out others mods and cool toys added to there trucks. Again welcome and hope to meet up with you soon.

oh by the way"Snoball" don't be afraid to ask questions as this place has mostly all answers. We have some smart ones out there that know how to do some awsome mods..... :B:

Welcome Snoball. I think we are still in the planning stages of the GTG but keep checking back. Where abouts do you live? Most of us live around the Albuquerque area. Hope to meet you soon and don't hesitate to ask questions.

A friend in the Impala SS club I am in has a 2500 Avalanche tricked out that he tows his car with....I loved the Avalanche and he told me to get in the Avalanche Fan Club....so I did the same day I bought the Avalanche.....now I want to meet some people that have modded them. So far it has a billet bow tie and grille and 20" rims with 305/50 all terain tires. But I want to see what others do!
I saw the Palo Duro event, but we will be with relatives in Lubbock that weekend....I will keep checking back for updates.
We live in Albuquerque.

Excellent - Another member around ABQ - Welcome Snoball!

I want to see Chaz's and Snoball's trucks so we really need to get a GTG going for September now especially since I missed the last one.

Hey Ubnvs,

I am still around - we are starting to put up the swing set finally! this is after 3 tons of block, a yard of sand, and 12 tons of pea gravel (2 tons by Av 10 by dumptruck) - whew! the Av has had a pretty good work out this summer (y).

Oh - and i got fake grass installed in the back yard ;D, i will have to post pics soon.

Are we looking at the 25th for a GTG?
