What seemed to have started out as a great thread and as joke between two mbrs has me very frustrated and has me thinking about the aim of this forum and the moderators job.
I have been a mbr ever since I purchased my Ave in 2001 and have greatly enjoyed reading many posts about all kinds of issues and topics. There have many threads that I enjoyed and some were even not Ave related, some were the bantering back and forth of a couple of mbrs even.
I never posted very much thinking I did not have much to contribute. Recently a local Aver joined the club and I started visiting the site more and actually contributing more with my experiences and opinions. This led to the thread "No fair -- Bryker". It was never intended to offend anyone, it was intended in good fun and in a light banter between me and another mbr, just like other threads have been in the past. I perhaps got carried away, but never deserved what I got. I got ridiculed by the Moderator, who claims to have gotten many complaints about the thread. It is funny reading over it again and seeing on how many mbr comented positively its hard to understand.
There was nothing rud obnoxious or vulgar about this thread, and the last time I checked we still had freedom of speech.
The comment about getting lots of emails stating that there is new post in a certain threads, well you dont want to get those dont monitor a thread. i monitor a few of them and sometimes I get 40-60 posts in a few hours, and they are only for a couple of the threads.
I thought I would post the email I sent BOR RAL after he closed the thread, shich btw was almost 24 hours after the last time I posted, and his response, which took several days from him.

Boar-Ral,
I am a bit disturbed by the way you handled the thread "no fair bryker". If there was something I was doing wrong you should have emialed me and not ridiculed me in the forum. I do take exception teh way you handled this one.
It was a fun thing and yes we got carried away. It happens. I have this and similar things seen in other threads, were a lot of people post one liners or abreviated vulgarity. I think you as a moderater should be a bit more diplomatic in your approach. as I said we got carried away, and when you posted your msg I had not posted for almost 24 hours. That should have been an indication that it was totally unecessary to close the thread without "warning" me via email.

I received multiple messages from other members expressing complete distaste in the direction the thread was proceeding. Coupled with the fact that many members have joked about whether or not I even frequent the forums or do not care what occurs in the forums, I felt the action taken quite appropriate. Judging from the number of messages I have since received thanking me for closing the thread, most Canadian members already thought what I expressed in the forum. I am sorry that you disagree.
I am not posting this for sympathy, just to vent at this Moderators actions, that were totally unecessary.
