Alright i have talked about this long enough, and i have been out of this scene far to long! I want to get another GTG going up here in Marianna. I want to throw out my ideas and see what people have to say about it. The dates that i have decided would be best is July 14th and 15th!!! so mark your calenders and plan on being here!

But i am proposing a GTG here in Marianna that will be about 2 days. There is nothing better than going tubing down Spring creek and Chipola River, not to mention RELAXING. I also just bought a pair of Jet Skis (so this GTG is also pending if I'm still alive) so the next day i say we have a day at the lake, Compass lake to be exact! everybody who can, can bring their boats and whatever they want. i am sure it will be a blast! I can also help make arrangements for lodging. Also I personally live on Merritt's mill pond and at the head of the mill pond is blue springs which is a really pretty and neat place to visit and swim (spike and his wife have seen it so pester them to see what they think about it)...

those of you with google earth, look up compass lake and Blue springs...

So whose in? Any ideas, comments, suggestions, hate mail, negative/explicit/sexually harassing remarks will be greatly appreciated...

Just saw this thread.........and Downdog2 is right the springs are pretty awesome. Questions::

What month are you planning on having this?

You said a 3 day event.....might want make it a Saturday & Sunday event for the out-of-towners. Making the "main" gtg on Saturday.

2 day event sounds good to me! will update first post. i can't believe florida is this dead to this event... what does nobody like me anymore? i see how it is!
 
Never been to a FL g2g...put me down as a maybe. My schedule changes like the weather up here so it depends on when it is.
 
need dates and times. 3 weekend? Fr, sat, sun no good for me. 2 day event much better. Lot's of stuff coming up. I'll be honest I'm saving my money for Nashville!! Have you peeked at the loot? I would camp any garages to park my pavement princess  :laugh:

I have decided that the best dates would be July 14th and 15th. that seems like the best dates... as for a garage, i got a car port, but you would have to fight the jet skis for it? >:D

If I can take off that Sunday, and maybe the Thurs. before that, I'll be there. I've been to Marianna before, bout 3 years back. I attended some training at Chipola College. I'd need to find a decent hotel to stay at for a cpl days.
 
im really sorry that i haven't had tI'me to be on line i should be to get this thing going! work and school has been some what tough...

I did a quick search for hotels in the area on expedia.com and that is the one i was thinking would be the best hotel... when it gets closer to the date, and i know who will be staying and have somewhat of a good head count, i will go talk to the hotels in the area, and find out who is willing to give us the best group rate!

WOW!!! things have been totally crazy around here, haven't had much time for anything with my new job and school... but FINALLY school is over, had my last 3 classes today!!!  :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:  well i still have to take 2 more semester exams tuesday but all is good, i found out that i can go to one class, my statistics class, and make a 0 on the final and still pass with a grade of a C... anyways, totally excited about that...

but now i will have more time inbetween work to get on here more and get this GTG organized more...


so what all has been going on? anybody found out any new news? as for that friday, it sounds good to get some jims!

Congrats man! Glad school is over for you also and it's good to hear from you. Just been getting things ready for Nashville next week..... nothing really else going on here.
 
Work, work work for me...bout all I know how to do. Getting last minute mods done for MCM . Glad you're out of school DD. Those were the days...
 
we need to get more people interested or atleast saying they are coming so we can hold them to it... i want to sling some people off of the tube >:D
 
Hmmmm... maybe I can help on this a tad. I have exclusive access to a pavilion picnic area at Compass Lake. Plenty of parking.... I will have to make sure it is not reserved though. Firm this up. Compass Lake is a little small for my boat, but the jetskis should be fun. And July is a good month. I have a birthday in there somewhere.... >:D

Wonder how fast I can install a Vortech on a jetski?

well got the skis back friday night. the paint is still fresh on the 900... i can tell though they can't wait to get out there on the 15th!

Hmmmm.. you have never been to Marianna before have you?...... Not sure they ever "fill up"........... :laugh:
