I have this burning desire to replace the factory radio system so that I can add to the audio system and improve the XM reception. How can you achieve this on an RDS system with a Bose system?
The factory system doesn't accept alternate inputs?
The only way I can see is with a PAC OS-2BOSE adapter.
Is there any other way?

There are many adaptors recently released that will allow you to replace the OEM head unit while still maintaining databus integrity and onstar/doorchimes. As far as 'improving' on the xm signal, unless you are getting major drop outs the signal is either strong or not; there isn't really a 'staticky' reception problem as there is with standard analog am/fm. Many of these adaptors are plug and play--you just need to specify Blows or non bose when buying.
