Off-roading in El Paso, Texas

Close call. Now I've got a lifetime warranty on my alternator so next time its no big deal.

Also I think we need to start on that snorkel project....

Great pics (y), but I think you might wanna put at least some on the rubber back inside the front fenders. Might help the rest of your truck last longer.

I can't believe the amount of mud in that enginebay... lol your hardly even close to sane!   No... but it looks like good times none the less.

Smart of you to go out with a buddy, I'd hate to get into a hole like the one you were in with mud up to the running boards and be looking for a tug with not a vehicle in sight.

Play on!

Just found this thread and drooled.  I'm from El Paso, and I am intimately familiar with the SAC and Red Sands areas.  I used to get my dad's 2wd S-10 and my 4x4 Jimmy dirty as hell out there.  I lived in a house in Horizon City that had nothing but desert behind it.  2 or 4 wheels was always a blast out there.  Now that I have my Av, I can't wait to get back out there.  *le sigh*

Anybody know of any legal offroading/camping areas between Austin and El Paso?  Would love to take a week and wheel with some West Texas Avs...
