I had some new neighbors move in last week - with a '03 Victory Red Z66! Cool! Another Av and just down the street! Before I could tag them  they traded it in on a (hold on to your lunches, folks) a Ford Focus! :C:

Oh! The Humanities!

Oh man, I think I am going to be sick!!! :D:

Who in their right mind would trade in the great Av for a car with one of the longest recall histories in the modern era? :7:

Quick, call the nice lads with the nice little sewn-up white jackets and get those people thrown into a rubber room!!!!

Who knows one of them may have lost their job or otherwise had to get a cheap vehicle.

You don't know how hard the choice may have been to downgrade or how much crying was done at the showroom.

ROFLMAO... and write in pen underneath... "When do you get your av back from the shop?"

>:D ?>:D

Thats great! I would buy a sympathy card and write "I'm sorry for your loss. Your AV was a great vehicle "

Skidd, you are so bad! ? ?And no, gas prices aren't too bad, $1.39 at the company stations and under $1.30 at the cheapies. Maybe they thought the Av was too big, I don't know. ?At any rate, they should have gotten the Focus and cash for their Av. ?

Being the neighborly sort, when the inevitable breakdown happens, I'll go over and say "Are y'all having a problem with your car? ?We can drop in the back of my Av to take it to the shop!" ;D

So I was just browsing through the old ones and holy crap, I wish gas was 1.39 now!

They could be like me, they have a crappy job, and the price at the pump is putting a strain on their wallet.  The money just may not be there to maintain a nice living.

I just started reading it, not paying any mind to the date. So when I saw the $1.39 gas price, I started packing up to move to MS. Thats when I saw the date....damn!

That's often the case, it's not just the price at the pump. Alot of people bite off more than they can chew.

Sure I can afford a bit more for a truck payment, then insurance comes due  :E:
Any number of unforeseen expenses,....

Look at the date though, trading an '03 in '03 for a Ford Focus ?
the depreciation alone would be a hit in the wallet

If you have kids I definetly wouldnt let them play with their kids. If you have a neighbor hood watch program you might wanna tell everyone the situtation. Sounds like you got drugs in your neighborhood now.

Maybe they work for an oil company and knew the gas prices were going to skyrocket for no reason at all..... :E: :E:

Some people still pay around 1.50 bc they bought into a gas bank that looks in the prices...Lucky b@st@rds  :(

Well,  I tried to post a reply back in July, but something must have crapped out (me?).  At any rate, they have recently moved away.  Their last couple of weeks  were "interesting"  (well, probably not for them).

Shortly after they brought the Focus home, it disappeared and was replaced with a Taurus and a  Ranger "Edge" [iinsert Bronx cheer here].  Several  months later, the Ranger lost is front fascia, which wasn't replaced until about 3 months ago.    What can you say about a Taurus besides :9:

Well, a few weeks before they moved I guess that they had started looking to a new house.  What they got was a series flats.  1 on the Ranger and 3 on the Taurus  - both rear's flat at once.  Somehow I don't think the spare was much help there!

Anyway, I wish them well and hope that the builders where they bought their new house learn to pick up their nails.

PS.  The cheapest gas I saw yesterday was $2.78 at the Flying J.  Oh how I long for those carefree days of yore!
