Ohio Club Dead?

It seems the Ohio group is nolonger listed as an active club.

It has been awhile since I have seen any posts from AJCHEVY2002. The last post I saw from him said he was busy because of golf season. AJ has done a great job for us in the past, but I understand that if you are busy, you are busy.

Do we have anyone who wants to take over the club during AJ's busy season? I do not want to do it. I run the Local VW New Beetle club, and I have my hands full running it. Someone please step up to the plate and help AJ, so we can get listed back as an active club.

The last thing AJ asked for, was ideas for a GTG, and some camping/off roading places to go to. Not being a native of this state, I have no idea on where to go camping, or where to go off-roading. If we were in Utah, I could list hundreds of places, but no clue for Ohio.

So, please help if you can. The locations can be anywhere within Ohio, and possibly in MI, PA, Indy and other surrounding areas, that aren't too terribly far to drive to.
 
on a side note. Westland High School is having a car show this weekend (July 21st). you can register from 3pm - 6pm cost is $5 I am planning on taking both Spork and Otto to this show. All money goes to the Westland High School Band.
 
How do you get there? I'm relatively familiar with getting around Columbus but have no idea where Westland High is.
 
Directions to Westland High:

Take your best route to I-70 on the west side of columbus. Exit off at Rome-Hilliard road, and head south. Cross West Broad St. That should put you right behind the high school. Last year they had signs directing the way.
 
If it IS dead,
at least let me know when & where the funeral will be
so my AV and I can pay our respects...

Anyone want to stop by TruckFest at Summit Racing tomorrow?

I will be there all day - I am entering my Av.
Would be nice to meet some fellow CAFCNA members.

Sorry for the late notice.

The show is 9-5, you are all welcome to come check out the vendors.

Judging is 1-3 so if you want to enter your truck you must be there before 1.

Last year's show was the first place I saw an Avalanche up close and personal - bought mine a month later. ;D

Just east of Akron, at Exit 29 on I76.

However, due to construction you cannot exit at #29 going east, only going west.

Going east, get off at exit 27 (Gilchrist), turn right and follow Summit signs. The signs are small so watch carefully.

If going east on 76, you will go Gilchrist, left onto S. Munroe (2nd light?), right on Newton (1st light), Newton curves to left, turn left onto southeast (1st light.) Summit is just ahead on left.

I hope that makes sense.

Hoping to see some fellow "Avers."

was supposed to get my AV tonight, but the Real Estate closing (that has to take place first) was delayed AGAIN :8: :8: :8:

So, yet another delay that I have to contend with.

REALLY wish I could, but...

I am in St. Clairsville-
I-70, about 10 miles West of WV border.

After I actually "have" my AV
(Signed papers already to get the 0% interest-
they just want my substantial downpayment -
can you beleive that GREED :rolleyes: :2: ;D)
I WILL be ready & willing to do some GTGs / cruises!! :D

Endeavorc showed up.
Only one other Av in Show-n-Shine, guy from PA with no computer (therefore no CAFCNA interest.)

Great time, lotsa nice trucks. I especially liked the 2001 four door Silverado HD with a 24" lift. :eek:

Spent most of my time watching guys run the "Rubicon Trail." Summit had laid out a trail of boulders for guys to take their trucks over. Very entertaining.

Got my AVS headlight covers - look nice and no problem with my GM bug guard.

Lund sales rep stopped by to ask me about my GM bug guard. He had not seen one with the Avalanche logo. He is sending me a free set of "stick on" hood scoops because he has not seen an Avalanche with any yet. Not sure if I will put them on, but they're free - I'll take them.

If you missed it, you missed a good show.
 
Must be nice, a free pair of scoops. (y) If you don't use them you can always sell them.

The show was good, would have been nice to see some customized Av's though.

The Rubicon trail was cool to see, have a picture of a Blazer caught up on the rocks (boulders).

Both Gold's Av and the other guys were black, should have entered mine for some additional color.

Too bad we were not able to have more of a presence.

I picked up the Lund Interceptor bug shield and was going to post back that it works fine with the headlight covers, but looks like you allready figured that out.

Yeah, it definitely was a cool show. I loved that rock crawl >:D

What time were you there? Were you able to see any vehicle run through the whole course? I didn't see any vehicle make it while I was there.

PeterB you wouldn't neccessarily know it by looking here since this recently replied to topic is on the third page. :8:

The topics are not being listed chronologically today. Maybe this reply will bump it up, but it did not work for me in other topics.

BTW, I never did receive my free hood scoops from Lund. :rolleyes:
